Everyone Deserves to Read!
Funded Jan 13, 2025Your contribution has already opened the door for students to learn how to read! Sometimes all it takes are the right tools and magic happens. The tools you have helped provide will go directly to students who are displaying signs of dyslexia. These tools will help them access texts that they have faced so many challenges trying to read. We are so grateful for people like you! Helping our students is helping everyone's future.”

Little Learners Need Phonics!
Funded Jan 23, 2023Thank you SO much for donating towards these wonderful resources! There are many different resources that came in this package, and they help me to reach a variety of learners! I am the Reading Intervention teacher for grades K-5. The students that I work with are students that have been identified by their classroom teachers as needing intensive Tier 3 intervention. These students have presented with challenges in whole class and small group instruction in the classroom.
By using a variety of resources, I am able to determine what works best for a variety of learners. It is also very helpful to have different strategies and tools in order to help determine if a student is facing a learning disability and needs to be further evaluated by our IEP team. Without a variety of resources my work could not be as thorough.
The resources included in this package are all super kid friendly and fun to use. This makes learning more engaging for the children. Many of my students ask if we are going to use them as soon as they walk in my room, and to see that excitement for learning is so extremely heart warming.
Thank you again, your donation is and will continue to make an impact on many students!”

Sight Word Ready!
Funded Nov 29, 2022I would like to thank you for your generous donation that enabled us to receive sight word readers! I am a Tier 3 Reading Intervention teacher in a federally designated title 1 school. The majority of our students come from families who are without extensive financial resources, and many of our students come from households where English is the secondary language. In addition, most of our students come from working families, so many times our students do not have a sufficient amount of support, particularly in English, at home.
I see students in groups of 1-3, 5x per week for 45 minute sessions. These students have been identified by their teachers as having difficulty making progress in reading after whole class and small group instruction. At the time that I requested these materials I did not have any researched based programs to use with my students, and I was pulling a variety of resources to use with my students. Although I very recently received a researched base program to use, sight word readers and color, and fun, interesting texts for my students to practice their reading skills. The majority of what we read is comprised of words that are considered sight words. Giving my students the gift of colorful texts to word on this fluency, is giving them a gift for life! I am so, so appreciative!”

This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 2 other donors.Remote Students Need Visuals!
Funded Jan 24, 2021Remote class 1DB thanks you daily for your generous contribution to our class! We use our document camera every single day in multiple subjects!
We begin our day working on Fundations. Sometimes in Fundations we work in our Fundations workbooks, and in order to stay together and make sure we are all on the same lines it is very important that the teacher is able to show us the book and where on our page we are supposed to be. The camera also helps us because when we are going over our Fundations work, our teacher is able to display our responses on the camera and we are able to get a clear view of what the teacher is modeling for us versus when the teacher had to hold up her white board in front of the computer's webcam. We also use the camera to help with demonstrations during math, and, we have art lessons and students are able to follow step by step because they can see each step on the camera. The camera helped us have a productive year. We thank you dearly.”

We Need a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 to Empower Students Through Art!
Funded Mar 9, 2016We cannot thank you enough for empowering us through technology!! Having in class easy access to such an amazing tool as a Surface Pro 4 will really open up many possibilities for us!
Being a NYC public school, funding is limited and often times allocated for very specific things. Teachers are not given opportunities to choose materials or technological devices, especially those that are costly.
As the teacher I'm very excited to share this gift with my students. Not only does the Surface give them in class opportunities, but them learning what it is for people to donate and think of their future is also a gift that goes beyond anything tangible! Thank you!! We can't wait to use it and share some pictures with you and the rest of our school!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Morales
