Making learning fun will inspire a child to be a lifelong learner. I teach in a high poverty school in a fifth grade classroom. Many of my students are intrigued with the simplest of technologies because they often are not exposed to them at home. We struggle to provide our students with basic school supplies as most parents can not afford to purchase those items. I believe that helping kids to connect with the world around them is the key to changing their adult lives. Learning should be hands on, interactive and challenging as well as fun. We as a school strive to open doors to our students to motivate them to want to learn, however with funding cut backs we are grateful to people who are willing to reach out and donate in any way to help us work to change their lives to be hardworking Americans of the future.
