Mail Call!
Funded Aug 23, 2022I can not express how grateful I am for your generosity in helping to fund my project. I try to offer as many opportunities to my students, and your support makes it possible for me to continue to do this. I am so excited to see my students' faces as they go to retrieve their work in their own personal designated mail slot. It may sound simple to you and me, but for them, this means everything. My sincerest thanks to you.”

Funded Apr 7, 2022WAHOO!!! Thank you so much for your generous donations! I am so excited to come back from our Spring Break and set up the panels to display my students work! What's more important, they will finally be able to see their hard work beautifully displayed, for them to view and for everyone who walks in our room. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN!”

Funded Mar 4, 2020First and foremost, I want to express my sincerest gratitude! When I learned this project was funded, the first thing I did was tell my students! I knew they would be as excited as I was. (After all, they were getting new books on their level!) The library in my classroom has many books, but a majority of them start at level E/F. That's fine for my advanced readers or middle to end of first grade, but not my beginning readers. I wanted so badly to put books into my students' hands that I knew were on their level. What child wants to read a book when they have to sound out every word or ask "what does this mean"?, "what does that mean?" I want my students to love reading, not think of it as a chore.
Because of your generous donation, my students, ALL of my students, will now have the opportunity to learn to love to read, on their level. From the easiest of picture books starting at level A, moving up to chapter books and level N, all my students can now curl up in a corner with a reading buddy and READ! Your gift has given me books ranging from levels A-D.
I am looking forward to the day when my students can come back to school and start reading again! I don't know when that day will be, (Covid has truly thrown a big curveball at us all!) but when that day finally comes, my students will have brand new books to come back to!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Grobman

Funded Sep 23, 2020I do not know where to begin to express my gratitude! I am so excited for my students and the new possibilities of what this camera will now allow me to do with them, especially given our current state of how we are educating our children today.
Covid, the pandemic and virtual learning have brought on many challenges in the world of education. Because of your generosity, that just became a little bit easier for my students and myself! I truly and humbled by your warmth and kindness.”

1st Grade Is Moving to a New Galaxy!
Funded May 7, 2019THANK YOU doesn't seem enough. Two little words do not nearly come close to expressing my gratitude and appreciation towards what you have done for my students and myself. What you have done is incomprehensible! Never have I looked forward to the beginning of a new school year as I am for the next year to see the looks on my new students' faces. I am truly humbled by your generosity and know my students will be excited as well! Look out Station Rotation!
Thank you and enjoy your summer!”

Funded Oct 13, 2017First and foremost, THANK YOU! I am so humbled and touched by your enormous generosity! When I put the bean-bag chairs out, my students' eyes lit up. In almost 18 years of teaching, I have never seen a group of six and seven year olds so anxious to curl up and read! I have students now, who when in Kindergarten, put up a fuss about reading, are now excited. Now, when they go to the library, they aren't fussing about having to go, but fussing about who gets which bean bag chair! The bean bags have also hosted our special guest for the month of December, Flash. Flash is our elf, from The Elf on the Shelf. As it turns out, Flash also finds the bean bags comfortable!
When I requested the Hooked on Phonics, I had one particular student in mind. She is relatively new to the country and is an English Language Learner. When my daughter turned one, I bought the original Hooked on Phonics kit. When she was in pre-school, (3 yrs old) she was actually reading some Dr. Seuss books, along with all the books from Hooked on Phonics. As soon as I learned there was an ELL student in my room, Hooked on Phonics immediately came to mind. I am hopeful it will benefit her, the way it benefited my daughter.
The wooden book shelf is perfect for my big books. I used to keep them in a large Tupperware bin. The problem was it wasn't very appealing and my students didn't want to dig through the bin to find a book. Now, they can clearly see which big books are on display. It truly acts as a head turner!
Because my school is located in a poverty stricken neighborhood, many of my students do not have access to a library. I am eternally grateful to you for helping me make my library a warm and welcoming experience for my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Grobman
