• Ready, Set, Go!

  The students were totally shocked to receive their supplies. They couldn't believe they got such nice supplies. They said it was the best day ever! Thank you for making their day!

  In our class, the majority of our students come from low income background. Some students come with very few supplies and then the others sit there with nothing or just basic supplies. It was so nice for them to get a beautiful box of crayons and the coloring pencils had such vibrant colors. They don't have markers so when they got those they had the biggest smiles and shocked faces.”

• Music Education Through Irish Whistles

  I am so excited that this project was funded! Since we don't have a band or orchestra program in our school the students will receive beginning music instruction with our humble Irish Tin Whistles! I am always happy to share my culture and nurture a love of music with children.”

• Read for Need-Need to Read!

  It is wonderful to get the Science Schokastic Magazines. The magazines are always full of interesting topics especially about animals and my students love these. In reading the magazines have current topics and articles and the student learn how to find text evidence in these articles. Compared to our reading books which usually have long stories the magazine stories are short and interesting. We practice finding msin idea, facts, opinions and compare articles but we do a lot of discussions and respond in writing to them also.

  In my classroom we learn important skills and strategies from our reading books but then we read independently at our levels to practice those strategies and skills by ourselves and having access to a variety of material broadens their minds and vocabulary.

  Students really enjoy the magazines and reread them many times!
