Math + Technology = Digital Teaching

Thank you so much for the opportunity you have provided our students with your generous donation. My math students are learning how to use them and have started to create interactive tutorials where they can actually interact with an online whiteboard using the touch screen to show their work and record their thinking verbally.

Being able to use the touch screen capabilities of the Chromebooks is really captivating to all students especially those who have trouble verbalizing and writing down their thinking. Being able to create and interactive tutorial and watching it being narrated with your voice, is a huge motivator for students who have previously been unwilling to share their thinking.

The Chromebooks are also a useful tool in assisting students to share their work from their table groups by using remote sharing software like Splashtop where students can share their work from the Chromebook and it is displayed on the Smartboard to share with the class and can be annotated from their desks.

Students now have an additional tool for motivation and success as well as helping them to keep up with technology not readily available for them at home or in their communities.
