  • Help Us Maintain The Technology We Have Strived To Get!

    Funded Mar 29, 2016

    Dear Donors,

I would like to thank you for your generous donations to my classroom.

My students were very excited to see the colorful chromebook protection cases. They were amazed and grateful for the makeover. The chromebooks are now protected and look more appealing. My students love computer science and programing games. Last year, they were thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in the STEM Expo sponsored by CSNYC at eBay, NY. They showcased their games and discussed their codes with executives from Google. They could not have done this great work without the technology.

I have worked hard to obtain those chromebooks and I am hoping to keep them in a great condition for years to come.

Again, thank you for your donation to our classroom. With your help, we will sustain our technology and sustain my students love and enthusiasm for learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Braick

  • Computer Science And Algebra Tech

    Funded May 18, 2016

    Dear Donors,

I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. I am extremely grateful to have 30 Chromebooks for my computer science and math classes.

My students could not be any happier when they saw the protective turquoise cases and the keyboard protectors. We all felt as if we had gotten brand new chromebooks. Over 150 students frequently use the Chromebooks in my computer science and Algebra classes to create games and Apps. We are overprotective of them because we know if any of the Chromebooks get damaged, the school won't have the budget to replace them. With these protective materials we are using the Chromebooks to the fullest extent without being worried about any scratches or dents.

Again, thank you for your donation to our classroom. With your help, we will sustain our technology and sustain my students love and enthusiasm for learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Braick

  • "Who Dares to Teach Must Never Cease to Learn"

    Funded May 24, 2015

I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donation to my professional growth. The ISTE conference I attended over the summer has transformed my classroom and provided my students with rich learning experiences.

I have learned about amazing instructional and digital assessment tools that have greatly impacted my students' learning. I have used the free amazing "Socrative" App to quickly assess my student understanding, gather data, and adjust my instruction to meet their needs. My students get highly engaged when I have used it as a math review game before a test or quiz. Another amazing tool I have learned from the ISTE Expo is Google Classroom. Google Classroom is a fantastic blended learning platform, where I have easily created online assignments , graded them, and returned them digitally. My students are able to view assignments and submit them from anywhere and anytime.

Our school cannot afford to send teachers to professional development workshops due to budget cuts, however, I have shared with my colleagues my learning experiences and the ISTE tools and resources. As a result, the opportunity of attending ISTE, has not only impacted my students, but it has also helped my colleagues' students as well. Thank you so much! I could not have done this without your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Braick

My students are energetic and inquisitive eighth graders who attend a Title One school in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Most of my students are from low income families who can not afford to buy iPad for their children. My students have developed a love of learning Algebra because of current technologies. They get very motivated and engaged when they come up to the Smart Board and interact with the Dragon Box App, which teaches them to solve multi-step equations, in a fun, game-based format. I only have one iPad that is used for demonstration purposes, and I would love if each of my students were able to interact with the many amazing mathematical applications. I believe that students learn best when they enjoy learning. My goal is for students to enjoy learning Algebra, while developing a solid understanding of Algebra content.
