Get my 9th graders motivated to learn about world history!

My 9th grade students and I would like to thank you for donating the five Acer Chromebooks to our learning space. As you know, computers are used in all aspects of daily life, but their use in the high school classroom is perhaps the most important.

Although computers were a new thing when I went to college, they are now present in all higher-level learning environments. When the students I teach today get to college, they will need to know how to join online classrooms, how to highlight and annotate online texts and documents, and how to take online exams. They will also need to know how to organize their documents into course folders. These are all new skills they will learn by using the laptops you donated.

By donating the computers to our classroom, you have made it possible for each student to work on their own google classroom account to complete such learning activities and to learn such college and career skills! The students are more excited about the activities they are assigned on our Google Classroom, which can be seen in the improved quality of work they are completing. They are still encouraged to discuss and ask questions about the materials they are studying, but now the assignments they create are their own and can be saved on their individual school google accounts.

We could not be reaching this level of success without your donation. Watching them get excited about the class reading and annotating assignments is so energizing! We are so grateful of your generosity.”
