Help us connect with The Bard!
Funded Oct 14, 2015Your donation helped to give to my students a resource that allowed them to transcribe Elizabethan English into meaning. Shakespeare is always a difficult text for secondary students, and this resource empowered my students with a level of confidence that helped them to find meaning to an archaic language.
When we read the play as a class, students independently checked their own understanding of the text by looking to the right, where it was transcribed into modern English. This act helped to quickly assess students' progress as we read through the play.
Once again, thank you for contributing to our classroom! They loved knowing that donators helped to bring to them this resource.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Drake
Help Us Go Paperless!!
Funded May 7, 2015On behalf of my students at Fort Dorchester High School in Charleston, SC, we wanted to say THANK YOU for your donation that helped to fully fund our request. Your funds helped to bring into our classroom whiteboards and dry-erase markers so as to start making the classroom paper-free! Since our school can't afford a "1:1" (tablet to student), the whiteboards help bring an interactive approach to my lesson planning. They have taken notes during Socratic Seminars and the whiteboards help to make the Exit Tickets more inviting than just writing on a piece of paper what they learned that day. My students were thrilled to know that you helped out our classroom! Thank you so much again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Drake
