  • Making Teaching More Engaging With Brainpop!

    Funded Apr 4, 2024

Thank you so much for funding my project! When our district did not renew the subscription, teachers and students were devastated. We use Brainpop and Brainpop, Jr several times per week to support math, reading, science, and social studies lessons. These two programs truly help drive home instruction. We used it on our last day of school to discuss friendship and take a quiz on the board.

Even though this project did not get funded until the end of the year, I will continue to use these programs next year. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tolentino

  • When 'Sometimes I Can Hear' Isn't Going to Cut it!

    Funded Feb 29, 2024

Thank you so much again for funding this project of mine. The students have been using the same Chromebooks since a lot of teaching went virtual. The Chromebooks are basically 4 years old, if not older. Things will tend to break. Many of the audio jacks will not work anymore. At first, we thought it was broken headphones, but after buying new headphones, we realized that was not the case.

After receiving the adapters, my students were able to use these right away. They are able to use the audio cord on the headphones to plug into one side and then use the USB-C side on their Chromebooks. Voila! Sound again. Very necessary with all our math and reading programs! Thanks again!!!”

  • Bringing Bright Lights and Cheer to All Who are Near

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for funding my project. This project helped boost morale for both the students and the staff in the halls. As soon as the items started arriving, we got to work figuring out how to best place the lights down the hallway. We were able to spread it from the beginning to the end of the newer wing hall.

Upon first seeing the lights turned on, the students and staff members were mesmerized. Walking under a pathway of lights when entering school instantly changes moods from tiredness to alertness. These lights also brought a calming affect to the students.

These lights will be used for years to come. Thank you so much!”

  • Bigger Buttons Galore!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Hello fellow school supporters! Thank you so much for helping me fund this project. The kids were so curious to know what this contraption was and after telling them what it is, they were so excited to see it put into use. This button maker is used in many different ways. First, we used it to discuss force and motion and simple machines in our science unit. We discussed all the parts to the machine and the lids were able to identify all the simple machines used to make this compound machine. Additionally, the kids use it to create one-of-a-kind rewards that they create. We even used it to create holiday gifts for our families. Thank you so much for donating to this project.”

  • Gaming (Unplugged) to Build Positive Relationships and Executive Functioning

    Funded Nov 12, 2022

Hello and thank you again for funding my project. This project was set up to teach the students how to build social skills by using cooperative learning games. Using these games, the students learn how to work together to foster positive relationships with each other. The students were very excited to see the new games in the classroom. Since I was able to secure 4 to 5 sets of the games, I am able to teach them whole group. Additionally, some of the other games are strategy based and games they have never played. These games help to build executive functioning. Thank you again for funding my project.”

  • A Rainbow of Colors For Teaching and Learning

    Funded Aug 2, 2022

Hello there! A super thank you for funding my color printer project. This project is much needed for almost every classroom just because of how much greater color images are when given to the students. Most times, students are only given black and white images printed on copier machines or basic classroom printers. In my class, the lack of color in the images can make learning more difficult. The colored images help use create games, note pages, and assessments that are vibrant. The students can see what is happening in the actual picture instead of struggling to see all the little nuances they may have missed. I am able to print out images that the students can glue into their notebooks for reference or even print out games in color for the students to use.

All the "oohs and ahhs" from the students when they get colorful pictures made this project so worth it.

    Thank you so much!”

  • A Place for Everything and Everything in Its Place

    Funded Jul 18, 2022

Hello! Thank you so much, again, for funding this project. The colored bins and the clothespins have been put to good use in my classroom. This year, my students need good organizational strategies to keep up with all of the lesson in math, social studies, and science. Since I teach two classes, one group uses the yellow bins for their materials and the other group uses the red bins to house their materials. This ensures that all students keep track of their own notebooks and supplies.

Additionally, the clothespins are used in the same way for our behavior management system. Those with red bins use the red clothespins and those with yellow clothespins use the yellow bins.

This has made our lives so much easier this year. Thank you so much!”

  • Buttons Galore!

    Funded Aug 25, 2021

Thank you so much for the amazing button maker. Having it in my classroom definitely piqued my students' curiosity. We have been able to make 39 different buttons for the students to take home. Each student was able to design two different button designs and then ultimately choose which one they liked better.

During the button making process, we were able to review the simple machines that created the press in a compound machine. It was a great spiral review since it was taught at the beginning of the year.

In the future, this will be one of the class choices for rewards. They were so amazed to watch their simple designs turn into forever keepsakes. Thank you so much again for funding this project.”

  • Drawing Tablet

    Funded Jan 15, 2021

Hello! Thank you so much again for funding my writing tablet project. Right now, only half of my students are in person right now. Even so, the Huion tablet and pen will be such an asset in my classroom. The purpose of the Huion tablet is to allow shared writing on the main Smartboards without the students ever leaving their seats. This helps with social distancing. With this tablet, the teacher is able to "share the pen" with the students to contribute to various activities. These activities can include writing on a document, writing sentences, or completing class assignments. In addition, I am able to write on paper while it sits on top of the tablet, and the tablet will digitally record my writing that I can upload to my digital learning platform.

As of this point, we have only practiced using the tablet because we are still being very cautious with social distancing. However, the students love using this and are amazed that the writing on the tablet can be transferred to the board.

Thank you so much again for your generosity to our students.”

  • Can Everyone See What I'm Projecting?

    Funded Jan 4, 2021

Hi there! Thank you again for your amazing donation and funding of my projector project. This second projector will be such an asset to my lessons. We already had another projector but the bulb was so dark so it still made it hard to see.

With this new projector, the students will be able to focus on any lesson that I project from either side of the classroom. In addition, I can project two different images at the same time for students to use as a reference. I have already been using it to project my Zoom students while still showing my lesson on the other board. This way, the students can still view all their classmates.

One of the best thing about this project is the fact the all students have a visible location to the images or presentations I project. This projector is brighter so it is easier to see without having to turn off a set of classroom lights. The kids no longer complain about not being able to see the board. Thank you so much again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tolentino

Hi everyone! Thanks for taking a minute to look at my project. This project will fund two classrooms that I co-teach with another teacher. We teach 40 third graders in a virtual inclusion setting. Our school board just voted to change the parameters to bring us back earlier than expected. To prepare for this change to hybrid, we are in need of some essential supplies for each student to use in the building and at home. Even now, most students do not have basic supplies when learning from home. The headphones with microphones will help them better interact with the teacher and classmates, drown out background noise, and optimize the ability to hear the lessons and the videos presented. The basic school supplies (notebooks, sharpeners, pencils, Crayola Twistables, and dry erase markers) will be given to the students so they can sketch note with pictures, create interactive notebooks that they can refer to later, and practice skills on dry erase boards.
