  • Books, Books, Books!

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Books are very important to a classroom and our class was so lucky with your generosity with the funding of this project!

The excitement in my classroom was magical when we received the boxes of books! My students couldn't wait to open up the boxes, take out all of the new series and add them to our class library. With each series that was taken out of a box, there were cheers and eager students wanting to look at the books.

Now, everyone looks forward to their weekly book shopping day to select some of the new books to explore.

Thank you again for bringing my project to life!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ioannou

  • New School Year, Here We Come!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Due to your extreme generosity we had a great start to the school year! With all of the supplies that were donated to us we were able to start the new year with organization and structure.

With our color coded folders we are able to keep all of our subjects organized and easy to access. Having each student have their own pencil cases makes it possible to have their pencils, crayons and markers at an easy arm's reach. Projects are also easier to complete because we now have card-stock, construction paper, scissors and other materials! Thank you again!”

  • Back To School!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Our first year back to school with in-person learning has been a success and it's all because of your generosity! Your donations to our class project helped make the transition very smooth.

The school year started with a classroom full of the necessary supplies. Each student was greeted with 2 pencil cases (one for home and one for school) bursting with pencils, erasers, sharpies, crayons, glue sticks, post-its and other materials to help complete any work this year. The students were excited that they had all theses supplies. The individualized supplies also helped us manage the protocols put in place to keep us all healthy and safe.

The brightly colored folders and notebooks help our class stay organized with our work. Not only do they make the classroom look nicer but they help us keep and access our work according to each subject. Each subject is assigned a color which helps every learner to be independent and responsible for their work.

Once again, your generosity helped make a school year with so many uncertainties manageable and successful! I can't thank you enough!”

  • Supplies For An Unknown School Year!

    Funded Aug 24, 2020

As the end of the school year is approaching I can't help but think of all of you and your generous donations!

This school year was very different from any that we have experienced. With so many uncertainties and constant changes it was great to see how this project helped us have a smooth year.

Every student that entered our remote classroom and our in-person classroom, (36 students to be exact) benefited from all of you with this project. They all had their school supplies at home and, for those of that came into the building, they had their supplies in school too. Due to your generosity my class had everything that they needed to have a successful school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ioannou

  • Fresh Start For September

    Funded Jul 31, 2019

Starting the school year with all the necessary supplies really made a difference. When the students walked into the classroom they were fortunate to have all the major supplies that they needed to start second grade.

The classroom in organized into seven tables and each table has pencil boxes with enough pencils, crayons, colored pencils and erasers. All of the supplies are easily accessible for all.

The construction paper, cardstock and sharpies are used for various project. At the end of each writing unit we make a cover for our published pieces and hang them on our bulletin board in the hall to share with the whole school!

With your generosity we had everything we needed to start the school year and continue to do so. The students are well aware of your contribution to our class and we all greatly appreciate you!”

  • Folders and Folders and Folders, Oh My!

    Funded Aug 1, 2019

It's the simple things in life that make a difference such as the folders you provided our class! Thank you again for your generous donations that have helped make this school year more organized with the colorful folders!

We have 31 second graders in one classroom without individualized desks so the folders really help us keep all of our work in our file boxes. The color-coded folders are used each day for every subject. Each student has a place to keep their work and to help keep their work in order. Every day we are reminded of your generosity! therf”

  • 8 Weeks of Birds!

    Funded Aug 3, 2019

I am so excited to share the news with my second grade team! Thanks to your very generous donations we can have the Audubon Society come into our classrooms to teach us about birds! Each year this program is loved by the children. Thank you again for contributing to this project and bringing it to life!”

  • Getting Ready for Swimming Lessons!

    Funded Mar 29, 2019

When I look back at the school year I think of all the learning and fun that we had and I can't help but thank you for helping this happen.

The second grade had the opportunity to have 10 weeks of free swimming classes to ensure that each of the students had a chance to learn to swim. With your donations every student had a pair of goggles and a swim bag to help them be ready for the pool.

When the class saw the bright, colorful swim bags they were so happy- they had a place to carry their towels and swim stuff to the pool! Then they saw their goggles and many of them jumped up and down with happiness when they saw that they each had their own pair of goggles to use in the pool and to keep!

With your generous donation, 30 students had an unbelievable experience becoming confident little swimmers.

A million thank yous wouldn't be enough to express how much the funding of this project impacted 30 children. A pool full of laughter and splashes showed me that they will never forget second grade and you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ioannou

  • Choosing STEM for Choice Time

    Funded Dec 20, 2018

When the boxes arrived into the classroom some students notice a Lego label on it. They were so excited when I told them that all the boxes were full of new toys for them to learn and play. They couldn't wait for me to open the boxes and I wanted to try to capture their expressions when they saw the new items for the first time. The pictures don't do their excitement any justice! They were screaming as they took out toy after toy.

We have choice time once or twice a week and when anyone walks in during this time they would find our class building and using the various games. Some of the toys are a little challenging such as the Sudoku game but I love to see that they are up for the challenge and try to improve each week.

Choice time has become a much more enjoyable time of the week thanks to all of the new STEM toys. Who thought that a few boxes could bring such joy to so many little faces!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ioannou

  • Organization For The New School Year

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Organization is a very important skill for an individual to have and I try to teach that to them from a young age. Since we don't have individualized desks for each child, we need to figure out other methods to help us keep all of our supplies. The chair pouches are excellent! Not only do they look really good in our room but they are able to store a lot!

When I first opened the box in front of them they screamed! They loved that the pouches looked like jeans and that they were larger than the pouches they had in first grade. That being said, now they stuff everything they can in their pouches!

It is so convenient for them to just reach behind their chair to get their bag of books to read or to store a letter from a friend. Thank you for bringing such joy and excitement into my classroom with this item!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ioannou
