Stem Project
Funded Feb 26, 2024Our preschool students got very excited when they first saw the new classroom materials. Since we practice math skills on daily basis during small group rotations, they loved to use the new counting collections during CGI activities. They very excited to sort the animals by kind. They also made AB, ABC, and AABB patterns with them. They practiced rote counting, and counting with one to one correspondence.
Our students used the colorful containers to sort the butterflies by their color. We also paired our students with their peers to work together on their counting skills. They were also talking with each other about their favorite animals and what they like to eat.
Thanks so much for your donations, our students not only practiced their math skills, but also those counting collections helped them to develop their social and language skills.”

Calming Area
Funded Jan 11, 2023Wireless Headphones is helping my students to calm their bodies while resting their bodies in the Calm Down area while listening to the calm, relaxing music. My students are also using them in the iPad area during choice time.
The construction tools are the most exciting for them as they are able to model their family members while using the tools. They require eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills to use those tools. They are pretending that they are building their houses or other nice buildings. They get very excited when they are able to build the first letters of their name with the Build the Letter Activity. This activity helps them not only with their name recognition but also with the alphabet letters.
I have a student with autism who is very sensitive to loud noise and she cries when she hears others cry. The wireless headphones help her eliminate the noise and calm her body when the noise level is too high for her.”
