  • Remote Learning

    Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. This year has been a challenge for the students, families and teachers experiencing blended learning. Your generosity has supported and expanded learning opportunities from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade during virtual learning. The lower grades are building their sounds, reading more words and connecting ideas thanks to your support. My upper elementary school students are reading texts and identifying the main idea in interactive learning opportunities. Finally, the Middle School students are writing summaries based on texts they are reading. Thanks to your donation you have reached nearly 40 students across grades.”

  • Cozy Learning Nooks

    The students were so excited to see the new materials. They sat and read on the bean bag chair, and the floor chairs clearly designated different learning stations. One station emphasized the students' sight word recognition, another station emphasized storytelling, and the third focused on story retell, at which the students used the desk easel to record events. The materials donated through Donorschoose will support the students for years to come. I want to thank you for supporting my students and providing flexible seating, hands-on materials, and fun learning opportunities that increase their engagement during sessions.”

  • "Minis" to Maximize Learning

    Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. My students are overjoyed and so excited to use the mini Pads. All ages from kindergarten through seventh grade have had opportunities to use them. They have supported the students phonics, articulation, following directions and comprehension. The students use it not only as a reinforcer, but as a tool to access the most updated technology.

I have a diverse population of students with varying struggles, however one common ground. They all need Speech and Language services to progress and support their ability to learn. Many of my students are Speech and Language Impaired struggling with Receptive and Expressive Language, as well as Articulation. They are not understood by others. Many have trouble talking about thoughts and feelings and following directions. Most of my students have problems with reading and writing. Other students are Autistic and demonstrate difficulties communicating and expressing their wants and needs. While working in small groups my students struggle to sit at times and alternative seating would allow them the space and comfort to learn in a relaxed atmosphere. By allowing students a comfortable engaging relaxed environment that will support movement and sensory needs of the children.

About my class
