Back on Track
Funded Apr 22, 2022Our track team is very grateful for your generous donations to our program. The athletes were very excited to receive our new equipment including resistance bands, javelin, discus, discus carrier, relay batons, and spikes. Your donations made our athletes feel both supported and encouraged that we have thoughtful people willing to provide for our program.
The new equipment will be used as we prepare and compete for the 2022-2023 season. As our team grows, we have a need for more equipment. We will regularly use the bands in the weight room to add to our training program. Our throwers will use our new implements and carrier for both practice and competition. Our runners will be super excited to have replacement spikes for their shoes. Having additional batons will allow for more athletes to practice handoffs. We will regularly use the bands in the weight room to add to our training program.
The items provided will prepare our athletes for a successful season. So far this season, many of our athletes have made the podium at invitationals and broken school records. We hope for our program to continue to grow both in the number of athletes participating in cross country and track and field as well as develop in the success of individuals and our team. We could not do it without your support!”

Funded Oct 11, 2017Thank you so much for your donation to our project, Special Grounds: Cultivating Success with Coffee. The students appreciated the generosity of all of you in supporting our classroom. Our students were very excited to open the boxes in order to see all of the equipment and supplies needed to start our own coffee shop and delivery service at school. The students could not wait to set up everything and learn how to make coffee!
Because of this project, we now have a coffee delivery service to the faculty as well as a coffee bar available to students and faculty on a weekly basis. Our students love to participate in making and serving coffee to others at school. In addition to learning how to make coffee and espresso drinks, our students have been able to learn and develop numerous life and employment skills by participating in this real life experience. Students are developing their social interactions with both peers and adults when serving our customers. They are also learning how to work with their peers. The students are also have the opportunity to apply their math skills when measuring, finding totals, counting money, and making change.
Our goal is for this project to develop into an entirely student-led enterprise. We hope to continue to empower the students by eventually having our student run all aspects of the coffee bar as they continue to learn new skills. Thanks to your generosity, our students are gaining real world experiences.”

Resources for Cross Country and Track and Field
Funded Dec 23, 2015Our track team is very grateful for your generous donations to our program. The athletes were very excited to receive new throwing implements, watches, practice equipment, and accessories for track meets. Your donations made our athletes feel both supported and encouraged that we have thoughtful people willing to provide for our program.
The new equipment was used on a regular basis this season. The watches and timing equipment were used daily in practice and meets. The practice accessories were used regularly for drills. Our throwers enjoyed practicing and competing with the shot and discuses. The new tent provided shade for the athletes at meets.
The items provided through Donors Choose have helped our team reach success this season. We added throwing events back to our team for the first time in a few years. We had a region champion relay team, region champion runners-up, and county champion runners-up. We had multiple relay teams and individuals make it to the State Qualifier in the 4x100m, 4x400m, 4x800m, 100m, 200m, and discus. We hope for our program to continue to grow both in the number of athletes participating in cross country and track and field at our school as well as in the success of individuals and our team. We could not do it without your support!”

Funded Aug 22, 2015Thank you so much for your donation for our project, Sensory Smart Classroom. Your donation made my students feel special. They could not believe that people they did not even know would contribute to purchasing supplies they can use in the classroom. They were very appreciative and excited when the items were delivered to our classroom. My students could not wait to open the boxes to see what was inside!
The fidgets are used by my students daily. When entering class, the students get their needed materials as well as a putty, sand box, or smaller fidget to use during class. My kinesthetic learners use the putty and Tangles on a regular basis to provide that little bit of movement needed to help pay attention in class. Some of my students have used the headphones to assist with blocking out noise while working independently when we have multiple groups in the class. The stability ball chairs are amazing additions to the choices of seating for my students.
The items in this project have helped my students focus in class as well as provided tools to help self-regulate their behavior by providing outlets for excess energy. My students' attention has increased as they are using tools to assist them in becoming more independent learners. We appreciate your support in helping us focus!”
With gratitude,
Teacher King
