Students at our school come from diverse backgrounds. As a suburban school, we are often overlooked for extra funding for materials and supplies. The burden tends to get passed onto either the teachers or the families themselves. I feel fortunate to have families who value education, but in these tight economic times, it is difficult to continue to ask for supplies as the school year progresses.
