  • Math Mania!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

I want to thank you for your extreme generosity to provide my students with fun and engaging math activities. They absolutely love playing different math bingo themes. The favorite bingo game is decimals and fractions with geometry a close second. The math game that resembles the game Trouble was a favorite to review for state testing. The students ask to play the games during centers time, one student asked to play math dominos when I gave them free time. It is so rewarding to see the boys and girls learning and having fun all at the same time. Thank you for your support to my classroom, the children and I really appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Metropoulos

  • Classroom Incentives for Fabulous Students!

    Funded Feb 25, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations that enabled my students to recieve classroom incentives! Every week when I open the rewards box my students' faces light up with excitement. The pop-its are a huge hit, students love to pop them to relieve stress or boredom. The large pop-its are used for multiplication games, the kids beg me to let them play during small group. They roll the dice, multiply the numbers, and pop the number of pop-its of the product. They are learning and having fun at the same time!

I am extremely grateful and appreciate your support for my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Metropoulos

  • Time to Hit the Refresh Button!

    Funded Jan 29, 2022

I can never thank you enough for supporting my students and myself. Your generous donations have enabled the students to have an adjustable podium to stand at and share their work with their classmates if they so desire. They love adjusting it to their height! The disinfectant spray and wipes are extremely useful to keep the classroom clean and sanitized. They are used daily and my kids love to clean after lunch and at the end of the day. Also, the classroom markers dry out quickly, so having a continuous supply is neccessary, and the ink allows me to continue printing in color and sharing work on the halls of the school.

Again, I am very humbled by your generosity and appreciate it very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Metropoulos

  • New Year, New Supplies

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

I can never thank you enough for supporting my students and myself. The generous donations have enabled the students to have personal whiteboards, markers, and erasers so that they can be safe and not share their supplies. I have also been able to give personal headphones to each student in my homeroom allowing for maxium protection this school year. The children use the whiteboards, markers, and erasers every day during math class. If they make a mistake they can easily erase that part of the problem, fix the error, and continue to complete the problem. The headphones are used during small group and testing to ensure a quiet atmosphere so that quality work can be accomplished.

Again, I am very humbled by your generosity and appreciate it very much!”

  • In Class Face Masks and Monitor

    Funded Feb 26, 2021

Thank you very much for your generous donations to fund my project! The Dell 23" LED Full HD Monitor was used to to project my students on ZOOM who chose to remain remote during the school year. Students who came into the classroom were able to see their classmates on the monitor and interact with them on a daily basis. The face masks were given to my students who were in the classroom. They were required to wear masks the entire day, and the masks you so generously donated to provided extra masks when needed. A tough year was made much easier through your support! Thank you again for your extreme kindness to my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Metropoulos

  • Clean Whiteboards and Fresh Markers

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

My students were so excited to receive their new supplies this past month! The fresh whiteboards, markers, and erasers have put a big smile on their faces. The students are using the materials daily for math practice, they are so happy that when they erase their work it erasers completely and leaves a clean whiteboard to use for the next problem. We also use the whiteboards, markers, and erasers to demonstrate the orbit of the earth around the sun, and the water cycle in science.

The tissues will definitely be used when we return to the classroom in a few weeks.

The headphones have blocked out noises for my co-teacher and myself. We use them during our remote teaching and it has made a big difference in being able to hear our students.

Thank you for all of your support during these uncertain times. My students, co-teacher and I appreciate it very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Metropoulos

  • Quiet Environment for Remote Learning!

    Funded Oct 30, 2020

I want to sincerely thank you for providing my classroom with an iPad, keyboard, Apple Pencil, and headphones. These tools have been so important now more than ever while I am teaching and students are learning from home.

The iPad allows me to have a document camera to illustrate lessons while the students are watching. It also allows me monitor student screens to guide instruction, and design engaging lessons using the multiple apps that are available.

The headphones will be given to the students so that they may continue learning at home in a quiet environment. Many students are in the same room as another sibling who is also "in class" and hearing other teachers at the same time can be distracting.

Your generosity is overwhelming and I appreciate your support to my class!”

  • Fifth Graders LOVE a Clean Room!

    Funded Jan 24, 2020

It is with extreme gratitude that I thank you for your extremely generous donation to my school.

The cleaning supplies have been used daily since they arrived!

Students from all classrooms can't wait to mop and vacuum their classroom floors. Students even were seen mopping the hallways!

The disinfecting wipes are extremely helpful. Students eat breakfast and lunch in their classrooms, spills happen frequently. The wipes keep the desks clean and sanitary. The mop cleans up spills and marks off the floor.

Cold season is here and the tissues with lotion are a huge hit. The kids are thrilled to have "super soft" tissues instead of "sandpaper" tissues.

Your commitment to supporting my students is very much appreciated!”

  • Help Our Students Have Clean Rugs to Sit On!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation so our school can have clean rugs for our students to sit on! The classroom rugs were cleaned the week before the students came to school, and they looked fantastic!

The carpet cleaner is used throughout the entire school. As you can well imagine, the rugs become quite dirty after recess. Students also eat breakfast and lunch in the classroom and spills and crumbs are common every day. The rugs now are cleaned each evening so they are clean for the beginning of the school day.

Students do a lot of learning sitting on the rugs. Lower grades do read aloud and whole group teaching with children seated in front of them on the rug. Upper grades may do centers, number talks, or whole group sitting on the classroom rugs. Everyday hundreds of students enjoy using the clean rugs for many purposes.

Thank you again for your kindness and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Metropoulos

My students are great kids who are often growing up in less than ideal circumstances. Many of my students come from broken homes and they witness violence in their streets. My school has many students living in poverty, a high level of students receive special educations services, and English is not the first language of a large group of students. My class is a mixed group of learners who like to explore different genres of reading. My library consists of books that have been donated, but are outdated and in disrepair. Research shows that if students read daily they are more successful. In order to foster the interest, students need the opportunity to select books which will encourage them to become "hooked on books." This project will allow for meaningful reading by our students, which will ensure their journey to become lifelong learners.
