Meeting Rug
Funded Aug 24, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation. Our class environment has absolutely changed for the better. We now have a meeting place where we can share a clean space we can share our ideas.
During the pandemic, due to social distancing the rug was removed and the sense of a meeting place was gone. However our new room brings back a familiar place we can all gather and share what we know, questions, and just hang out.
My students just love to work independently on the rug to read, write, and work in groups. They just love the space. Thank you very much!”

Funded Apr 21, 2022Thank you very much for the supplies. We can add a new media type to our drawing center to create. It is so important for students to be able to imagine, plan, and then show using various methods. Not all crayons are for every surface.
Thank you for allowing our students to create and express themselves.
We are truly grateful to use the supplies to express our ideas without being unable because of supplies. You make it happen and it comes across in the pieces they create and importantly the confidence the students gain when creating something magical.
Thank you for supporting our kids”

Funded Mar 11, 2022Thank you so much for the donations. I was able to share the valuable resource with a fellow teacher. I was able to secure engaging reading passages in various levels for small group instruction. The resources have given me the ability to focus on specific points of interest to maximize the time for small group instruction.
The students are able to read passages on their level and read passages that the students can make a connection to, further adding more depth to the lessons and learning experience.
Thank you so much for the resources that maximize our small group reading time.”

Playing Cards For Math
Funded Feb 10, 2022I noticed once my students turned their devices on, there was no conversation. Quiet, but strange. Good old cards brought back what we teachers call good noise. Conversation between students over a game of cards, witnessing a students confidence grow, and strategies being experimented through a game of Uno.
The good noise has brought back what the students needed. Face to face communication between students who are different and perspectives exchanged.
Thank you for bringing back the good noise and thank you for supporting our students.”

Funded Dec 9, 2021What a blast! We can not thank you for the PE equipment. The activities we can have outside to reintroduce our students to playing together nicely has been up lifting.
Many of them over the pandemic played in their own world and did not play with other kids. The equipment allows the students to work in a structured environment to work on social skills and at the same time get some needed exercise.
The valuable skills learned will help support our students for a life time. Thank you for your generosity and your support.”

Funded Nov 10, 2021Thank you for the PE equipment. With so much going on, more time outside exercising our muscles and learning how to cooperate with our peers in games is so important.
Getting out of the classroom and learning through games has been essential to getting back to the normal swing of things at school.
With the equipment, all the students are involved in learning how to cooperate with one another, playing fairly, and also being able to learn leadership roles.
More time outside has made a change in how my students interact with each other inside. There is more kind words, encouraging words, and more cooperation during group time.
Thank you again for helping us get back to somewhat a normal routine at school.”

Funded Nov 6, 2021Thank you so much for the much needed books. I have a huge range of readers. It was evident that students suffered at home. Without the proper materials and lack of supervision at home, many kids did not get the support or have the environment to continue to read.
Your generosity will fill that gap. I need my students to catch up and be live long readers. Thank you for supporting the students big time, especially those who are in great need.
The students have books they can read independently and have books on their level to progress at a faster clip.
Thank you again for your support and kindness.”

Books and Characters Students Can Relate to
Funded Oct 21, 2021I am so grateful for your generosity and faith in our youth. My students love to read and giving them access to literature from all different perspectives will help them learn about all different values and see the beauty in what we share in common and the differences we have. Our world is so divided right now and I want to instill in my students that the world is great place with beautiful people like you who are encouraging my students to see a world they may not see through literature.
My students will continue to love to read due to your kindness. I can't wait to open up our gifts in front of our students. Sometimes I feel bad when we have to move on to another subject and they beg me for more time to read. I hope I give in more than usual as they read and learn from this selection. Thank you again!”

Funded May 7, 2021Thank you very much for the supplies. I apologize for the tardy response.
I wanted the students to produced something I can show you donors.
The last year and half has been challenging for the students, but they are
a super motivated group.
We turned our lesson on California Spanish Rancho Life into a neat art project.
They were also able to explore their own identity and create brands that
express who they are.
Thank you again for the supplies that helped my students learn about California history and also express their own creativity.”

Integrating Arts With Social Studies
Funded Jun 30, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation. We just finished our first week back to start the new school year and the students are excited to use the materials. They have been away from school for a year and half. They miss their art and social studies.
It is even better when they think they are creating something artistic but at the same time are learning something new that happened decades ago.
I can't wait to see how the students during the Covid 19 pandemic will interpret similar historical events in California.
Thank you again for your generous donation during this time.”

Mr. Tomizawa
