We are lucky enough to have 24 students in our classrooms this year, but because we rotate, I say I have 72!! I work at a Title 1 school where all students receive free lunch. Many of my students come from non-English speaking homes and some get very little support on homework and class projects because of language issues. The time I have in the classroom with them is precious. My kids are like most 5 and 6 year old kids. They are active, loud, and love to play. They need to see things a billion times to learn them--or at least it seems that way. They have great stories to tell and have a lot to say. Many are willing to try new thing, and all of them like to play games in the classroom. I like to make learning fun because I think they learn a lot through play and sometimes they don't even know they are learning.
