"Cricutting" It Up a Notch for Our OT Students
Funded Dec 22, 2021We are so excited to share how the Cricut machine purchased from your donation has added to our occupational therapy sessions in middle school. Our students learned how to plan for and work on multi-step projects. They would problem solve, modify and adapt accordingly throughout the process.
The students used rulers to measure various canvases, modified and edited their projects and designs, all before bringing their creations to life. Once ready to print/cut, the students learned how to correctly align various materials on the mats, feed them into the Cricut and how to operate the machine. This included setting the machine according to the material being cut and also how to mirror images when necessary.
Our students used their fine motor skills to weed out the design and transfer them onto water bottles, ornaments, laptops, phone cases, t-shirts and more. When making t-shirts, the students also learned how to use a heat press to iron on the vinyl, calibrating temperature and time for each material.
These experiences have brought about excitement, motivation and new therapeutic experiences for our students. They frequently request to use the Cricut in sessions and often try to plan ahead for projects to make for upcoming school events and holidays. The possibilities are endless and we look forward to years ahead using our Cricut machine and heat press. Thank you for this amazing opportunity.”

Making Gains with Yoga in School
Funded Mar 24, 2015On behalf of myself, my coworkers and my students, I wish to extend our sincerest thanks for donating to our project. It is because of you that we are expanding our yoga practice using the props and equipment you helped to purchase. The students were so excited to see the boxes, open them up and to practice using the new materials. The yoga belts make stretching easier for those of us with tight muscles. The blocks allow us to incorporate new and more challenging poses. They serve as that little bit of support needed to take our poses one step further. The beautiful green mats that we received really set a calming mood in the room. The students were thrilled to practice on the new mats and expressed how much they enjoyed using them.
Your gift has allowed us to renew and expand our yoga class and practice. We now have enough mats to incorporate new classes, reaching even more students in our school. We wish to share all of the positive energy we create in our class with our donors. Thank you again for supporting a project that is beneficial to the students in mind, body and spirit. From our yoga class to you, we say, "Namaste". The light in all of us honors the light in all of you.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Giudice
