iPad To Connect Learners in the Virtual World
Funded Nov 11, 2020Words cannot describe how excited and thankful we are for your generous donation. As soon as the package arrived I was just as excited as they were to open this package that was delivered to our classroom. As the children opened the box and realized that this box was something we as a class had desperately needed for our in person and virtual learning.
We were able to use this ipad and pencil during in person learning and have used it a lot during our virtual learning. We were switched to virtual learning a few days after receiving these awesome resources. In the virtual setting it is very helpful during whole group and small group times. I am able to project y ipad, see my students faces while teaching as well as be more interactive throughout my lessons. They are now able to see what I am writing using the special pencil. I love it during math when we are working out equations and math tasks. During small groups I am able to play educational games and read stories with them along with work on their phonics instruction. During our writing, the pencil and ipad has been so helpful in filling out drafts and editing our work.
Again, thank you so much for donating awesome tools to help my students and myself be successful in both in personal and virtual learning environments. Watching their involvement and full engagement during lessons has warmed my heart in so many incidences.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Johnson

Funded Apr 16, 2019Words cannot describe how excited and thankful our class is for your generous donation. As soon as the package arrived, I was just as excited as they were to open this package that was delivered to our classroom. As the children opened the box and realized that it had a new working Yacker Tracker they desperately needed they were so excited! One student even said, "Now we can learn to use an inside voice again".
This item is so exciting to add to our daily instructional time. This Yacker Tracker will help keep us on track and focused. The lights help us self-monitor our volume as well as how loud our bodies are throughout the day during unstructured and structured times.
Again thank you so much for donating money to help replace a vital tool to help us be successful and learn. Watching their involvement and full engagement during whole group, small group and center time using an inside voice has warmed my heart in so many incidences.”

Funded Jan 6, 2019Words cannot describe how excited and thankful our class is for your generous donation. As soon as the package arrived I was just as excited as they were to open this package that was delivered to our classroom. As the children opened the box and realized that this box was something we as a class had desperately needed for our math center time.
My class will now have many resources to help them sharpen their math skills in a fun and engaging way. Having the materials to further practice, these vital skills will help them be more successful in mathematics. It allows time for independent practice during math centers as well as during indoor recess. Many students pull these resources out during indoor recess time, which warms my heart. I can already see an improvement in their computation skills and their confidence has increased as well.
Again, thank you so much for donating awesome math tools to help motivate and enhance their computation skills. Watching their involvement and full engagement during center time has warmed my heart in so many incidences.”

iLearn with iPads for First Grade
Funded Jul 31, 2018Words cannot describe how excited and thankful our class is for your generous donation. As soon as the package arrived I was just as excited as they were to open this package that was delivered to our classroom. As the children opened the box and realized that this box was something we as a class had been desperately needing for our center time.
Technology has become a way of learning in all subject areas and throughout the day. Tablets are used during whole class, small group, center time, as well as during assessment windows. I use a computer based website to assess and track my students reading and mathematics progression throughout the school year using an ESGI Software program. The students can sit with me one on one and answer questions without a computer. Students can also use applications to help further practice their mathematics, writing, and reading skills. I have also found activities that use a QR application so they can practice reading and mathematics skills by scanning a code that is hidden around our classroom.
This tablet is so exciting to add to our reading and mathematics center on a daily basis. When it is a group of student's day to be at the tablet center, they jump up and down and cannot wait to walk to that center. While at this center, the group of students are fully engaged and I don't hear a thing from them. I see a smile, ownership of their work, and excitement I do not see from other centers.
Again thank you so much for donating a tablet, and a case to protect this very expensive piece of learning technology. Watching their involvement and full engagement during center time has warmed my heart in so many incidences.”

Bringing Sensory and Tactile Materials to Life!
Funded Mar 10, 2017Words cannot describe how excited and thankful our class is for your generous donation. As soon as the packages started arriving I was just as excited as they were to open this package that was delivered to our classroom. As the children opened the first box and realized that it was filled with items we were desperately needing they were so excited!
These items are so exciting to add to our reading and mathematics center on a daily basis.
While at this center, the group of students are fully engaged and I don't hear a thing from them. I see a smile, ownership of their work, and excitement I do not see from other centers. My visually impaired student loves his books and Brailled numbers and letters. He uses the letter tiles to build and read his weekly words and his brailled numbers to add and subtract. The sensory items have helped create a flexible seating environment where students feel comfortable and ready to learn.
Technology has become a way of learning in all subject areas and throughout the day. A listening center is an extremely important part of reading center time so students can practice their language, writing, and vocabulary development skills. They are able practice their ability to listen to specific phonemic awareness and phonics sounds and write or circle on a corresponding card. It allows them time to independently practice these skills in a quiet manner during center time.
These listening center materials will help my students further practice independently their reading, writing and vocabulary skills. When it is a group of student's day to be at the listening center, they jump up and down and cannot wait to walk to that center. While at this center, the group of students are fully engaged and I don't hear a thing from them. I see a smile, ownership of their work, and excitement I do not see from other centers.
Again thank you so much for donating listening center books, as well as sensory and tactile items to help my diverse learners grow. Watching their involvement and full engagement during whole group, small group and center time has warmed my heart in so many incidences.”

Word Family Center Resources for EL Learners
Funded Dec 31, 2015Words cannot describe how excited and thankful our class is for your generous donation. As soon as the package arrived, I was just as excited as they were to open this package that was delivered to our classroom. As the children opened the box and realized that this box was something we as a class had been desperately needing for our whole group, small group, and center time.
Having the proper materials to further practice their language, writing, and vocabulary development skills is vital in their development. They are able practice their ability to put together, read, write, and segment or break apart word family words. It allows them time to independently practice these skills in a quiet manner during center time.
These word family materials will help my students further practice independently their reading, writing and vocabulary skills. When it is a group of student's day to be at certain literacy centers, they jump up and down and cannot wait to walk to that center. While at this center, the group of students are fully engaged and I don't hear a thing from them. I see a smile, ownership of their work, and excitement I do not see from other centers.
Again thank you so much for donating all the word family center materials for our classroom. Watching their involvement and full engagement during center time has warmed my heart many times.”

Sharpeners for Sharpening Our Writing Skills
Funded Dec 21, 2015Words cannot describe how excited and thankful our class is for your generous donation. As soon as the package arrived I was just as excited as they were to open this package that was delivered to our classroom. As the children opened the box and realized that this box was something we as a class had been desperately needing for our center time.
Writing has become a way of learning in all subject areas each day. We write throughout the day during whole group, small group, and individual learning times. During center time in both math and reading, students are encouraged to free write in a form of a journal or homemade book. All of the students truly love this center and can't wait until it is their turn at it.
Having a pencil sharpener, colored pencil sharpener, crayon sharpener and stapler at their fingertips have allowed their creativity to run wild. I have created a work station they can go to when needed so that their writing time won't be interrupted. When it is a group of student's day to be at the writing center, they jump up and down and cannot wait to walk to that center. While at this center, the group of students are fully engaged and I don't hear a thing from them. I see a smile, ownership of their work, and excitement I do not see from other centers. I allow time each day for them to be the teacher and read their work to the class. Their excitement is breathtaking as they sit in the teacher's chair and read to their peers.
Again thank you so much for donating awesome writing tools to help motivate and enhance their writing skills. Watching their involvement and full engagement during center time has warmed my heart in so many incidences.”
