I have a passion for teaching! This is the hardest job I have ever loved! I can not imagine having any other career. My goal is to instill a passion for learning into my students. I have the mentality that I can save them all. Sadly, I know the reality of that statement. However, the point is, I TRY! The majority of students I teach focus first on if they are going to eat when they come to school, learning may come second, or third. Most come from single parent homes. Some of our students are living with grandparents and/or in foster homes. I have personally purchased clothes, materials, and stuffed my "babies" backpacks with food because at the end of the day, I want my kids to be focused on learning to greater their success in life. I feel that it is our goal as educators to provide our students with positive structure and an atmosphere where they feel safe!
