  • Reading Fun

    Your support has meant so much to myself and my students. Though this has been an unprecedented year, your support was one way my students and I were able to escape the unexpected shut downs as we read and learned about new characters everyday. My students and I were able to go places and meet characters even when we were quarantined and could only see each other remotely.

    After being reunited in our classroom once our school opened back up, my students and I delved right back into learning about why the parts of a book are so important to the author and audience, we the reader. Students learned how the parts of a book can help them learn about authors they would eventually come to know and love. Students also learned about illustrators and the partnerships they build with authors. Also how they two choose each other.

    Your donation of books has meant the world to myself and my students. We both ask that you continue to support teachers and students in whatever way you can.”

    First and foremost, I want to say how my heart is filled with gratitude at your level of generosity.

    After being able to have this shared experience with my students, I know that my students will always see Send Cook Shop to Applebee's as a once in a life time experience.

    All students involved were able to ask relevant questions as to the process in which their food was stored, prepared, and purchased. Students were able to see the value of eating healthy and making healthy choices when ordering food within their community. Students connected what they learned in the classroom on a weekly bases about eating healthy, making healthy food choices and were able to understand the importance of being a wise consumer as they made healthy selections while dinning in their community.

My students' language becomes more diverse as they see how authors use language to describe their characters, setting, and plot. Students also learn how to write sentences and build on those sentences as they immerse themselves in connecting real world adventures to their lives and the lives of others.
