Futsol for the Flashes
Funded Nov 27, 2023This past week during some down time some students requested to play soccer. I was able to provide these students with a safer opportunity in class by allowing them to have these futsol soccer balls. It was great and everyone had a safe and enjoyable time playing futsol.
I am looking forward to starting our soccer unit in the next couple of months knowing that I now have a safer option for my students. The ball stays low to the ground and it has a softer outer shell than other soccer balls. This will provide safety for anyone kicking and defending the ball. This will also keep the environment safe so the ball will not get kicked up to the ceiling. Trust me I don't know how high school students manage to do this but sometimes it does happen.
Thank you for allowing my students to have this new and improved version of indoor soccer!”

Hey, Scoreboard!
Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for the donation towards the scoreboards and the timer clock. It has been a relief not having to tape up the numbers and try and fix our old scoreboards all the time. They stand up on their own, are easy to transport between classes and are collapsible for easy storage.
We have also used the timer for students to see how much time is left on games. This gives them a little more competition during game play because if the score is close they try a little bit harder with little time left. We will also be using the timer soon as we transition into fitness stations and students can watch when to rotate through the stations.
Again, thank you for the donations they are greatly appreciated by over 800 students.”

Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for the donation of the collapsible goals. They were a big hit with Team Handball and I know we will use them for other sports including soccer, speedball, and hockey. The students love that they are not falling apart every time they get hit by a ball.
They are great for the storage room because they save so much space than the normal goals. They are easy to tuck away and we aren't having to climb over them to get to other items in the storage room.
Thanks again for your contribution it is greatly appreciated!”

Funded Sep 4, 2021Thank you so much for the donation of the Lacrosse Sticks. We were in the middle of our lacrosse unit and I noticed we did not have enough sticks for all of our students. Our class sizes seem to be increasing but we do not have funds to increase equipment. My students love to participate and I hated to see some sitting out due to lack of equipment. With your donations we were able to get the equipment needed so all students could be active all period by playing lacrosse. This was the first time they have played this sport and I know they truly enjoyed it! Thanks again for your donation to help get all my students active!”

Let's Bounce
Funded May 4, 2021Thank you so much for supplying the resources to play Tchoukball. Since this is a new activity for most it allows for a more even playing field which allows for a more enjoyable game and not one or two players being dominate. The students love the new game and working hard through teamwork and communication to be successful. We have been able to use the tchoukball equipment in multiple classes and over 500 students have been impacted through your generous donation. We will continue to utilize this equipment and want to again thank you for your generous donations for making Tchoukball possible within our school.”

Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for the equipment for the Team Sports Class. The students love to be competitive and being involved. It also helps those students who do sports for the school be more in the leadership/coach role and they can design and draw up plays for their team.
Every other Friday we have an All-Star game and for those not participating in the game can now have a duty whether that is being the coach, referee, umpire or sideline judge. This keeps all students involved and it also makes them learn the rules.”

Funded Dec 30, 2018These fatheads are amazing and make learning about these systems so fun! I was able to put the heart and lungs in my health room as we learn about the cardiovascular system and respiratory system. The heart helps them see all the valves and chambers. The lungs go in depth and you can see all the bronchial's so students can see how inhaling toxins could impact these.
The muscular and skeletal system will be going up in our weight room so as students are learning about different lifts and the muscles they affect they will have a visual of where those are located.
These fatheads are a great way to make learning fun and give the students realistic visuals! Thank you for your help in making this possible!”

Funded Nov 16, 2018Our students love competition and winning. One way for them to be able to compete is having the scoreboards to let them know who is running. Yes, you can keep score in your head but it makes it more fun being able to flip over the next number or two especially if that occurs when your now beating your opponent.
When I first brought out the scoreboards the students were so excited to have new scoreboards and several made the comment that they were glad to have new ones since our others wouldn't even stay up or were missing some numbers. Our students will be using these during several activities. Currently we are in our basketball unit as you can tell from the photos. They can also use these during many of our other activities when they will need to keep score.
Thank you for the donations to help bring some competition back to life in the PE Department!”

I came, I saw, I conquered!
Funded Mar 27, 2018We are in the process of rearranging the fitness and weight area within our school. I will not be able to hang all of the signs until this is finalized in July. I was able to hang up the dumbbell poster and students loved looking at this to get more ideas. They all know which area in their body they want to improve on so now they can look at the poster and identify which lift they could do that would help cater to their specific needs. I can not wait to get the rest of the posters up as it will give the kids more independent ideas. Thank you so much for the donations! We love them!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.120 / 80
Funded Dec 14, 2017Thank you so much for your kind contributions to the 120/80 project. My students as well as my coworkers students loved using the blood pressure cuffs. They thought it was very interesting on how they could manually find their blood pressure. We were then able to talk about the importance of knowing these numbers and to go home and instruct their parent/guardian of the importance. Students were able to also see how their blood pressure is usually lower compared to an adults. This semester there were 10 total health classes that used these blood pressure cuffs. We will continue to use these each semester as we get new classes. With your help we are able for students to get a better understanding of the importance of knowing their blood pressure. Thanks again!”
