Science and Science Fiction--Robots, Rockets, Aliens, UFOs
Funded Mar 22, 2006Thank you so much for your donation! I just read the email today and cannot wait to tell my class tomorrow that someone special out there cares about them and their new-found love of reading. As a class, we just recently finished reading the two other titles in the Pageturners Science Fiction series ("Flashback" and "Under Siege")and not only were my students raving about how much they loved these books, they were motivated to write about what they had read. I have never seen them this excited about reading and writing in English Language Arts class and it has been more than amazing to watch them connect the concepts we study in Physical Science to the fun stories they are reading. They absolutely love this series of books, so again, thank you so much for a gift that keeps giving. You have given us the possibility to enjoy "real chapter books" as a class through the end of the school year and sparked a love of reading that will not only carry over into summer vacation, but continue on through the rest of their lives.
Kind regards,

7th Grade Immigrant Students Want Shakespeare!
Funded Mar 3, 2006Thank you so much for your donation! Yesterday, I shared the good news with my students and they were almost speechless when I told them a donor has chosen to fund our Shakespeare project proposal. They were amazed to think that someone out there cares about them and their education. Thank you for being that person who cares! They are so excited about reading Shakespeare and can barely believe that we will soon have CLASS SETS (whole class sets!) of several plays. You are bringing hope to the hearts of children who so often feel the odds stacked against them.
With deepest appreciation,
