  • It is Just a Letter

    Funded Oct 12, 2020

I requested these materials because I teach SWD, so many of my students are behind in their phonic skills. These students are aware of their deficiencies so they in turn don't like to read or embarrassed to read. These materials will help my students learn their phonic skills in a fun and engaging way. Also the materials would allow for self in dependent, which would motivate these students to want to learn their sounds to help them with their read better. When the students seen these materials they were excited. Thank you for being a part of my students education journey.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moore

  • Give Me a Choice

    Funded Mar 23, 2020

The donation of books was greatly appreciated. The students was so excited to see the books because we haven't had new books in the classroom for a long time.

Since the Covid the students have been reading the books digital so there would be no transmission of the virus, so when I opened up the box of books the student so happy to see them.

The books also allowed all my students to read independently on there levels so it would promote engagement, self confidence and helping them with their comprehension. So from the classroom to you thank you for being interested in our reading journey.”

  • Building Fluency!

    Funded Jul 2, 2020

My students are using the fluency cards as small centers. I teach English Language Learners and Special Education Students. Many of them struggle with comprehension with impedes on the students fluency.

So these cards provide away that my students can work Independently and gain confidence in their reading without the help

Of the teacher. These different grade level cards will allow my students to build on their fluency from their independent level. As their comprehension improved the students can use the other cards to continue with their fluency. Thank you for your donation.”

    Funded May 23, 2020

Thank you for the materials for distance math. As we were thrown into this pandemic I was one of the teachers who had to think of ways to reach my students virtually.

The math materials will help my students stay on task with their math and will provide a fun and engaging way to teach them math. Math is important to me because most of my students are behind in math.

With these materials will help reinforce the skills my students need to help them with math facts. From my classroom to you it's with humbleness that me and my students thank you.”

  • Reading Digitally

    Funded Jul 17, 2020

Since the pandemic my students had to go remote. This coming school

Year many of my students are still learning remotely. I have stress over how my students can move in their reading digitally.

These resources will allow my students to read in a remote setting. These digital reading materials will still support my students with vocabulary and comprehension. Most importantly, the digital reading material will keep my students engaged and support my students taking charge of their reading .

Thank you for your donation my students appreciated it.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moore

  • Let's Pair Up!

    Funded Feb 11, 2020

This project was suppose to be used in the classroom to prepare my students for the NYS Exams. Due to closure because for the pandemic I didn't get the opportunity to use the materials in that capacity.

So I decide to use them virtually. so I scan the passage and put them online, so my students can still be accessible to them and still get the practice of comparing fiction with non fiction.

My students love them and they love recording their response online to the passage. These material allow my students to see remotely how fiction and nonfiction are relatable.

The material also help my students work on their reading comprehension, which many of my students needs the extra reading practice because their reading is so low so these material serves as an extra supplement for them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moore

  • Keep Reading to Me!

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

I want to thank you for the books. My students are very low in their reading so new books that engages my students help them become more avid readers. Some students with disabilities struggling with focusing , so this can have a huge impact on their reading ability.

The new books allows me to read to the students and create new experiences and new vocabulary my students need to move farther in their reading. This promote more engagement which in turn allow for my students to move in their reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moore

The reading fair boards will make my students more excited about reading fiction texts and being able to make it come alive in 3D form. My students will be ecstatic to construct their favorite scene or reproduce the cover of the book. This project will so much fun for them because they love using their fine motor skills in the classroom in creative ways. My students will be more receptive to finding the heart of the story and re-creating it in their own way as they envision the story in their heads. Through recreating through art, they can add visual details to give more detail to the part they choose to illustrate. Also through creating reading fair boards( fiction) , it will reinforce what we have been teaching in our reading unit so far. This will give the students the chance to review the elements of fiction in a fun and creative way.
