  • Drawing Our Amazing Ideas

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

Thank you very much for your donation to our school community. Our scholars were very happy to have received these school supplies. Our scholars are using the new resources to draw ideas and create inspired by diverse class projects. We were able to use these resources to practice a few drawings on linear perspective and drawing three-dimensional shapes.

All scholars were so happy to be able to take their drawing materials everywhere. Our scholars are so proud of the drawings that they get to create independently and often share their ideas with their classmates.

Our next projects include to use our resources for collaborative projects in which our scholars could share their ideas and drawing to create a collaborative work of art.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Osoria

  • Artist Aprons Help Us Paint More Comfortable!

    Funded Feb 3, 2023

We are so thankful for all the materials donated to our school. Our scholars were able to use the materials donated in painting projects and printmaking art projects. When the students first saw the materials they were so happy and excited to open the packages. We opened the package in class and every student was very thankful for this donation. In the future, we are going to be working on other painting, and printmaking projects. We will also work on clay art projects very soon. Our school community is very thankful.”

  • Prints! Creating our own painted collage paper!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We are greatly thankful for your donations to our school community. Our scholars have been working in a printmaking art project using the tempera paint and plates that you donated. In this project, students have been able to learn about different printmaking techniques such as stamping, and relief printing. In addition, students have created their own collage paper by using various painting techniques to create painted paper with different textures and patterns. When our students first saw all the materials that you donated, they were so happy to start learning and use them in their art works. They had a lot fun during our printmaking project and now is one of their favorite art projects to work on. In the future, our students will continue to learn about other printmaking methods such as symmetry printing. In the moment, they are creating collagraph prints in which a collage design made with a variety of textured materials will be transfer as an image by using tempera paint. We are so appreciative of your donations”

  • Expanding Creativity Through Drawing

    Funded Dec 18, 2021

It is my honor to write to you and express our gratitude for your generosity. At P. S. 126X we appreciate all of your support in donating sketchbooks for our students. These sketchbooks were of great help to our scholars. Our students were able to take their sketchbooks with them everywhere and draw about things that inspire them. Students were able to draw in recess time and during choice time. In the classroom, students were able to share their ideas and drawings with their peers. In addition, the sketchbooks were very helpful for our student committees. They used their sketchbooks to plan future art projects like posters and murals.

The sketchbooks were also part of the planning process to begin a work of art or to learn about a new art word definition. Students wrote notes about the color theory and also described the steps to create their artwork.

There's no enough words to express our happiness and gratitude. Your donation really helped nourish creativity in our school. Thank you for supporting the arts in our school community.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Osoria

Students will be able to have a personal sketchbook that they can take home and create drawings and designs. Students will be able to keep their ideas for projects in one book and review them when they need it. Having a sketchbook will help my students to plan and organize their ideas before they start working on the art media to complete their art projects. In addition, the use of sketchbooks in the art room will help them collaborate with their classmates in sharing ideas and techniques for school wide collaborative projects. These sketchbooks will be very useful for my students, even when they are working in classroom projects because they can use it to draw and brainstorm ideas for science, or social studies projects. I like that having a sketchbook to keep drawings based on lessons and projects also demonstrate students' progress in learning about art techniques.
