  • After School Arts & Crafts

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you for this generous donation to my after school clubs. There are two days after school that the students have been asking for different activities to do. When the students opened the boxes the screams of delight brought me so much joy. They ripped open the rest of the packaging and started making bracelets immediately.

Since the students started making bracelets, we have had the club triple in size. We have also started an indoor recess club where the students come upstairs and work on keychains and other jewelry for themselves, friends, family and teachers. Many of the students who have joined have been making gains on their fine motor skills and have made new friends. Students who were usually alone in the cafeteria or recess yard, have a group of classmates who have noe become friends. Without your donations, which provided these materials, I do not believe this would have been able to happen.

Thank you for bringing joy to my life and helping my students have a more meaningful school community.”

  • Upgraded Calming Corner

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thank you so much for this amazing donation for our classroom. The donation of the fidgets, and signs for calm down corners are helping my students take a few minutes, regroup and come back to the lesson and have the ability to focus. I also have many students come to my classroom from the other classes to take a break and relax. It is truely amazing what some stress balls, fidgets, posters can do for a simple classroom corner.

I think I need to post anpther project, because there are so many students who want the corner to expand throughout our entire classroom. I will be working with my administration to hopefully get more calming corners in other classrooms.

Thank you for these little objects that made the students the happiest they have been in a few months. The joy on their faces when they get to spend some time in the calming corner, sometimes even with friends is priceless.”

  • New MacBook Pro to Support New Professional Development

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation! The new MacBook Pro is the perfect addition to our classroom this year. When I am not using it throughout the day, students are allowed to use it to print photos for projects, make posters for upcoming events and research bulletin boards and class decor ideas. Having the colored printer hooked up has also brought so much life to the classroom. Students seem to be more engaged in their work and more interested to take an active role in learning and keeping out classroom decor up to date with cultural celebrations, seasons and the curriculum. The MacBook Pro is also teaching students how to use a computer other than just a chromebook. The classes, professional development classes, I have been taking on the computer during the evenings and weekends, I feel also has helped with some of the student motivation to care about their grades and their surroundings. This MacBook Pro is making teaching and learning joyful in my classroom! Thank you!”

  • Hydrated Little Learners!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation! Providing the students with in school water bottles has decreased the amount of time students are spending in the hallway and at the water fountains. More time in class is shown to be beneficial for all students' academics. Water is filled 2 times a day - after breakfast when the class does a bathroom visit and after lunch again for the bathroom visit. The teachers also have described this project as beneficial because there is much less interruption of their instruction to fill out hall passes and send students to the water fountains. There is also less stress on the teachers because they do not have to remember who is "next" in line for the water fountain visit. Thank you for this opportunity to increase on task behaviors and allow students to remain hydrated throughout the day.”

  • Rain, Rain Means Board Games Day!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation! Providing the students with board games to play with during the rainy days will save my sanity. Since the gym is occupied with gym classes we don't have an alternate location for recess other than the auditorium. I needed students to still be able to have fun and socialize during their recess time. Board games seems to be the way I can run a successful indoor recess. Board games offer socialization and keep their minds and hands busy so no drama can brew up. The various board games picked for rainy day recess also allows new skills to be learned and other practiced while the students are having fun and remaining safe. The board games this project provided our school will also be used for students who want to stay inside and play games instead of playing on the playground.”

  • Confident Warm Weather Learning

    Funded Jun 8, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation! Many of our students miss school because of some hygiene issues so this deodorant will ensure some of them come to school more often. Attendance is so important and since the students can be confident in themselves, they will have more brain power to focus on their academics. Basic needs being met needs to happen before any learning can happen. Because of your donation students will also experience less bullying. Empowering students to be confident with themselves relieves all the stress of being a teenager and worried about themselves gives them the ability to achieve their goals.”

  • Snacks for Brain Fuel

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

Thank you for the meaningful donation to the students on the third floor. With their lunch moved to ealier in the day their empty bellies in the afternoon have caused great distraction from learning. Because of their snacks in the afternoon all teachers have reported more on task students and higher grades on tests and assignments. The snacks provide the right amount of energy for our middle school students to get through all their afternoon classes without any distress. Your dontation to the third floor students have saved many of them from low test scores and possible summer school.”

  • Critical Thinking Skills Needed!

    Funded Apr 22, 2024

Thank you for the donations of the wonderful activities for the classroom! Students have been so excited for learning because it is fun now that there is game-like activites. Teaching the students how to think critically and showing them that is no "right" answer is a game changer for their science classes. Letting them work on projects that show them how to be creative and use their brains in different ways have allowed the students who are usually quiet and off task have become some of the star students in the room.”

  • Save Our Sanity With Headphones!

    Funded Jun 25, 2023

Thank you so much for the fantastic donation to my classroom. The students are so excited to have their new headphones. It has been many years since our classroom set has been replaced and the new ones have been well received! I have students who before would be distracted by others and the noise from computers, now on task and happy.

Instead of a distracted, loud classroom, all of my students are able to focus on their different assignments, stay focused and get their work completed with much higher accuracy. The addition of these headphones has saved our sanity!”

My students make up the entire population of the middle school floor of our school. As head of the science department for our school having these board games will allow me to help my students as well as other teachers master many academic and social skills. Especially after testing students need to be able to make use their time left in school to build on their academics. I feel that board games can enforce many skills as well as give the students a different setting other than a traditional classroom setting.
