Microsoft Micro:Bit Coding
Funded Aug 27, 2023Thanks so much for your donation. My students will be trilled to work with the Microsoft Micro:Bits and start learning about coding. Once again, thank you so much for making coding learning an interactive for my students in the robotics class. Working with Microsoft Micro:bit will make learning an excited lifelong experience.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Riot Games Social Impact Fund and one other donor.Biology GAMES
Funded Nov 2, 2018Thank you so much for your donation. The money you donated had made possible the purchase of educational board games. This board games involved biology topics as part of the game. While using these games, the students were not only having fun but reviewing biology concepts without realizing. The students were very happy and enthusiastic the day we use the board games in class. The students were looking forward the "game day" and after that day they continue asking when are we going to have another game day. Thanks so much for making biology game days possible in my classroom.”

Ready, Set, Drone!
Funded Nov 2, 2018Thanks so much for your donation. My students were very happy when they find out they were building drones in the classroom. The drones made the learning of physics concepts more relevant to the students. The students were excited building and flying the drones. Your donation brought happiness and excitement into my classroom. Your donation sparkled the interest of building and putting things together as well as to learn about how things work. It was your donation that made possible to transform my high school students into engineers and scientists with drones.”

Exploring Acids, Bases, and Salts in the Physical Science Classroom
Funded Oct 23, 2017Thanks a lot for your donation towards this project. It was your generosity what made possible the acquisition of a Lab Kit. It has been your donation that allow my students to learn about acids, bases and salts by doing hands on activities and conducting a lab in the classroom.
My students were engaged as they were completing the labs and this had been possible because of your donation. Using the materials that we received because of your donation, my students learn about the pH of acids, bases and salts, they also observed how acids react with metals and perform a neutralization reaction. Thanks so much for making the difference in my students education and in their life as well.”

Chemical Reactions in the Physical Science Classroom
Funded Oct 23, 2017I have no words to express how grateful my students are of your donation. This donation made possible to buy supplies to complete hands on and laboratory activities in the Physical Science class. The students were eager to be in class and complete the laboratory activities. As the students completed many of these laboratory activities, they were able to learn about chemical reactions. The use of these materials had not only made the learning of difficult concepts easier for my students but also had contributed to the improvement in behavior and attendance. All these was possible because of your generosity.”

Exploring Atoms, Elements, Mixtures, and Compounds
Funded Oct 20, 2017Thank you so much for donating the funds that made possible to purchase the materials needed to do activities in the class. These materials have made possible to create a class that students enjoy more since instead of a lecture, the students are we are using these materials to do laboratory activities in order to explore and learn the concepts. These materials that allow the students to do labs in the science class are the reason that there are no absent students to class. Also the fact that the concepts are taught through hands on activities make the students to engage and to enjoy the class more.
Using these materials, the students were able learn about the elements on the periodic table, the atomic structure, and how the elements bond together. The students complete activities that allow them to understand the atomic structure of different elements and how that relates to the elements location in the periodic table. Using the materials, the students made models of atoms of different elements that allow them to learn about electron distribution, valence electrons, and how ionic and covalent bonds happen.
It is priceless to see how the students are learning science concepts with the lab activities using these materials. You made this possible with your donation!”

Exploring Forces, Simple Machines and Motion in the Science Class
Funded Oct 20, 2017Thank you so much for donating the funds that made possible to purchase the materials needed to do activities in the class. These materials have made possible to create a class that students enjoy more since instead of a lecture, the students are we are using these materials to do laboratory activities in order to explore and learn the concepts. These materials that allow the students to do labs in the science class are the reason that there are no absent students to class. Also the fact that the concepts are taught through hands on activities make the students to engage and to enjoy the class more.
Using these materials, the students were able learn about forces such as gravitational force and buoyant force. The students performed experiments to calculate the gravitational acceleration. The students measured the buoyant force and apply Archimedes' principle. It is priceless to see how the students are learning difficult science concepts with the lab activities using these materials.”

Exploring Electricity and Magnetism In A Physical Science Class
Funded Oct 18, 2017I thank you so much for funding the project:" Exploring Electricity and Magnetism in a Physical Science Class". This project provided my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences and encouraged the students to make connections of science topics in their life. My students were capable of learn better by completing the hands on activities provided in this project.
Using the materials of this project , my students conducted investigations about electricity and magnetism. The students were able to construct an electromagnet, make a battery, construct a lie detector, observe the magnetic field, investigate a magnetic compass, observe and compare different circuits. The students that typically do not participate in class were actively involved while we were completing these activities. All these was possible for your donation to fund this project.
Thanks again for making the difference and improving my students' school lives.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose.org Community and one other donor.Exploring Optics and Sound in Physical Science
Funded Oct 17, 2017Students eyes lighted up when they saw the box with the materials, all of them showed an smile in their faces. The students enjoy doing the activities that came with the materials. The materials were used to complete activities to investigate the sound and light. As the students used the tuning forks they were able to define sound, distinguished the sounds generated from tuning forks of different frequencies, learn that sound travels faster in water that in air, students were able to calculate the speed of the sound, and observe phenomena such as resonance, interference, and Doppler effect. As the students used prisms they were able to see the dispersion of white light, the students were able to define color, and observe the reflection of light using mirrors and lens.
These materials and the activities contributed to the students' deeper understanding of science concepts as well as a positive experience in the science classroom. Thanks so much for your donation.”

Graphing Calculators in Statistics Class
Funded Feb 18, 2015I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share and make possible to provide the students with opportunity of using graphing calculators in the classroom.
These calculators will benefit the students. They will be able to perform calculations very quick and focus the majority of the time in the interpretation and explanation of the results or concepts. The tools that you have funded will enable students to create and explain their own concepts with concrete tools, which will associate to the abstract.
Thank you so much.”
