The majority of my students are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners. My classroom is composed of students with special needs. They enjoy learning if the classroom meets their learning style. My students like small group instruction in the form of centers and/or stations. These centers help with re-teaching a math skills for struggling learners, develop smaller and one on one assistance, and challenge others. The learning environment in my classroom is warm and comfortable for them to be safe and learn. I make sure that the room is quiet with minimal distraction and a place where they feel comfortable to work collaboratively. I set out clear expectations for independent/partner work, and centers (group work). I develop routines that allow students to become independent, and teach or help other classmates.
