Dry Erase Markers and Pencils
Funded Dec 30, 2018Thank you very much for your kind donations. We received a large amount of dry erase markers and pencils.
Students are using the markers on dry erase boards as they practice math, vocabulary, other daily lessons. Specifically students were working on dry erase boards representing numbers in standard form, expanded form and written form. All of the colors make the classroom feel warm and engaging. I like how the student work is alays being displayed.
When they students saw the package of maekers and pencils they thought that we must be very important for donors to offer us so much.
Thank you again for your kind donations. Because of you we have a great amount of markers and pencils for students in Philadelphia.”

Funded Dec 17, 2018Thank you very much for your kind donations. Each student was able to receive personal winter hats and gloves.
These hats and gloves were distributed at the perfect time during the colder months here in Philadelphia. The smiles on all of their faces was priceless.
Each student was able to "shop" for the color and style that they liked which was special for them.
As the students were dismissed they all lined up with their new hats and gloves and a sea of warm new colors left the classroom.
Thank you again for your kind winter time donations.”

We Need Head Phones and Dry Erase Markers!
Funded Dec 29, 2017Thank you very much for your kind donations. The students were overjoyed to receive new headphones and dry erase markers. The children were able to use the headphones right away in both the computer lab and in our classroom. In the classroom children use headphones to have a distraction free learning experience when they use online reading and math programs. Students also use headphones in our listening center and they can experience books being read to them without distractions. Students use dry erase markers everyday in both reading and math so having new fresh markers is a very nice thing..”

One White Board /Flip Chart Stand for Philadelphia Students
Funded Mar 29, 2017Thank you very much for your kind donations. We have a beautiful brand new white board on tip over proof wheels. The white board is great. It works best with colored dry erase markers that make lessons come alive. We use the dry erase board daily for both small group instruction and whole group instruction.
The new mobile board makes it easy to bring the board close to students that work in groups. I pull the board right up to their desks and make the notes for the lesson right in front of the children.
Thank you again. Donors like yourselves make colorful classrooms that are great for kids.”

Funded Feb 16, 2017Thank you very much for your generous donations. This past class of second grade children each received personal winter hats. The kids were able to choose from the boys pattern or the girls pattern. It was a great day to see all the students lined up with their warm winter hats.
When the children realized that everybody was getting a winter hat they all put them on at the same time which was when we took our pictures! There were a few hats left over which will be given to children who will get them this coming winter.
Currently our inner city elementary school is changing the way we have been teaching students. The children need a classroom rug called the lakeshore flagship rug with colored squares. Please consider us in the future.
Thank you so very much. Without your donations we would have very little to help us educate students in public school. Donors Choose is the best.”

Funded Feb 22, 2017Thank you very much for your kind donations. Our class room takes pride in being a clean work environment. I always say that students can not learn in a dirty room.
We will be using the Swiffer Wet Mop Supplies to make sure that our cleanliness goals are met. It is remarkable how much the kids love to help out. We take turns doing the mopping.
Also thank you for the candy. Lolly Pops are loved by students and they are a safe treat. There is a minimum choking hazard because of the lolly pop stick. Lolly pops are also school friendly unlike gum which can get stuck on shoes, clothes, hair, and the floor.
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity with out your donations we would not be able to have the nicer things in school.”

Document Camera for Philadelphia Students
Funded Feb 8, 2017Thank you very much for your kind donations. We are excited to have a brand new document camera for class room instruction.
We use the camera for phonics instruction. Students have their own books and they are able to see the teacher demonstration on the board as a whole class. I use colored highlighters to show different parts of the lesson. I can also go to the board and point out aspects that we are working on.
Also we use the camera for math lessons. I am able to show how operations are done by using real paper and pencil methods. The students are really getting a firm grasp for regrouping tens and ones.
Again thank you very much for your kindness and generosity. Without you our class would not be able to have such nice things.”

Copy Paper, Pencils, and Water. Philadelphia.
Funded Jan 17, 2017Thank you very much for your kind donations to our classroom. We are very grateful for a good supply of copy paper, pencils and bottled water.
First, having copy paper is essential for smooth operations in the elementary school classroom. We use copy paper at a fast rate as it is used for all of the subject areas including math, writing, social studies, and science.
Next, we also use dozens of pencils every month. This nice pencil supply should keep us in good shape until the end of school.
Last, thank you very much again. We look forward to a great second half of the school year with plenty of important school supplies.”

We Need two Laptops For Reading Support
Funded Dec 20, 2016Thank you very much for your kind donation. Last week our classroom in Philadelphia was given two laptops for reading support.
FIrst, these are brand new name brand computers that we were able to set up quickly.
Next, each student is able to be included. We are specifically using these computers to access a computer based web program called "Lexia". Lexia is a very high level learning application for reading. It is individualized for each student and gives kids critical reading support in a game like environment.
Last, this technology is so important for these students who are learning to read in this modern time. Thank you again.”
