Resources Needed for Small Group Activities
Funded Dec 13, 2023The resources for our small group activities have helped so much in the classroom. Students are able to be more independent and are also able to help with instruction. The students love to go to their mailboxes and see all the work they have done for the week. The routine was easily adapted.
Donors like you help make such a huge difference in my classroom. With supporters we can foster more independence and help them learn crucial life skills. Thank you so much for your generous donations; it is truly appreciated.”

Sensory Space for Autistic Students
Funded Sep 6, 2023Thank you so much for funding our sensory area for our students. This has given my students a nice place to go and relax when they need a break from the school day activities. They are allowed to pull out the sofa and lay on it and the rug is a great source of sensory. They love the soft texture that it has.
My students need places where they feel safe enough to relax and this area has done just that. Behaviors have decreased as they really want to use the calm down center and they know that real bad behavior will not allow them to do so. Again, thank you so much!”

Funded Aug 15, 2023Thank you so much for donating to my project. Our students are learning independence and name recognition. Routines are in place and our students following them with no prompting.
The mailbox has given them a place to put their behavior folders and some days they are extra excited to get surprises in their mailbox. All of my studnts can recognize their name now and that is a huge improvement.
The storage center enbaled us to put our intervention worksbooks to allow students to go and get their own when it is time to use them. They have learned that with no issues. They like to take ownership and "help out".
Your donation has helped so much and we greatly appreciate all the support.”

Funded Aug 19, 2021Thank you so much for funding our new stove and microwave. My class has had the pleasure of cooking apple pie, taco's, and our practice Thanksgiving meal. The students love this addition to our class and look forward to cooking lessons. Due to your wonderful donation I will also be having cooking classes for the other autistic support students that attend our school. They will be able to experience the joy of cooking just like my own students.
Life skills is such an important part of our curriculum and I could never give my students the full experience if it was not for your generousity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and from my students and parents as well. This has made a tremendous impact not only on my class but all autistic students in our school.”

iPads for Autistic Support
Funded Sep 10, 2015The I-Pads have been a huge success in my class. The children have been able to use them as a center in the classroom without the assistant of the teacher or classroom assistant, which means we can work one-on-one and in small groups with other students. They have been working on apps that progress monitor. The children love the fact that these are touch screen compared to the desk tops, due to the motors skills required to use a mouse.
We are incredibly grateful to all that donated to our I-Pad cause, it has helped everyone in the room with our goal to increase our academic enrichment this school year.”

Carpet and Pillows for Reading!
Funded Aug 1, 2015The carpet and pillows have made a wonderful addition to our classroom. As you can see from the pictures, the children like to get books and grab pillows and look through the books while laying on the carpet. The carpet also serves as a play area rug, sensory area, and an area where those that need some time to relax can do so.
The carpet and pillows have also encouraged book handling skills. None of my students have the ability to read but I have noticed that this year with the addition of the carpet and pillows, that they have been eager to grab books and look through the pages. This is a huge step for them in learning book handling skills and prereading skills. I am so thankful for these additional resources.”
