Connecting Learning Tile by Tile
Funded Nov 24, 2023Let's take a little peek into my classroom utilizing your contributions to my project, "Connecting Learning Tile by Tile". We are using the new learning games from Lakeshore tiles throughout the day during small groups, interventions and free-choice times. Students are building upon learned skill as well as developing skills while having fun learning.
When I first introduced the tiles to the students, their reactions were priceless with many echoes of ooos and aaahs. It was evident that they were ready and eager to use the tiles to learn.
With the magnetic number tiles, students stated they enjoyed matching the numbers with quantities and doing simple additions. I'm so happy that I order 2 magnetic letters tiles because the students had opportunity to build upon their skills identifying upper and lower case letters and using letters to form their sigh words and CVC words.
The next step utilizing the tiles are endless the more the students become familiar with the tiles.”

Funded Aug 13, 2020It's never too early to learn that the key to life is balance.
2021, a new school year, the coronavirus crisis forces schools across the country to grapple with the challenges of providing remote learning, We have been in a world that has been so focused on online platforms and technology for students to learn that one might forget that these are children who need balance and activity in their lives to keep them engaged. No child should be on a computer, tablet, phone, or game all day! Home should be a place where they are able to learn but also be healthy, creative, and active.
Thanks for your donation! I reached out for your help via Donor Choose and you came through with your generous donations. On behalf of, "The World's Best Kindergarteners", and myself, we thank each donor from the bottom of our hearts.
Your donation helped give my students materials such as finger-paints, journals and markers; things that will help them to supplement my live session instruction. The materials also helped to support multimodal learning and provided an opportunity for my students to just be kids! They are now able to paint, cut, glue and practice writing or drawing with various writing tools.
Thanks again, for reminding my students that there are still fun things left to do in a world that has changed so drastically for them.”

Funded Sep 20, 2020Corona virus crisis shined a harsh light on the digital division, out of this crisis my concerns grew about reaching students without internet access at home. In my school district, online learning simply isn't an option for some families. 2021, new school year , as the coronavirus crisis forces schools across the country to grapple with the challenges of providing remote learning, I had to get creative with low-tech forms of instruction and delivery that don't require internet connections or digital devices., I reached out for your help via Donor Choose and you came through with your generous donations. On behalf of, "The World's Best Kindergarteners", and myself, we thank each donor from the bottom of our hearts.
Printed materials remain a significant component of learning. Having a printer allowed me to provide the source needed for hand on lessons and a supplement to instruction that can used during virtual learning and independent study. With this printer materials can be created with little expense.
Your donations allowed me to print instructional package that allow students to do some fun activities around their house that naturally incorporate reading, writing and math! Like most teachers, we are giving lessons through video conferences on Zoom and uploading materials to online learning platforms such as Seesaw. Your donation also removes the worried thoughts of not all children have laptops or Internet at home, by allowing me to provide printed hard copies of instructional packets for students.
I made the first set of instructional packets and made it available at school which is designated as meal distribution locations and mailed and drop off some to students' homes.
"It was kind of a challenge to put those packets together with work that I felt my students could do, and because of the wide range of needs in the class, no two student packets were identical.
I plan to deliver future packets in the upcoming semester. Again, Thanks for being a super star in our eyes.”

Students use these Chrome Base 21.5'All-In-One computer during their daily literacy and math rotations. Students are able to get on many different websites such as Starfall, BrainPopJr, Pbskids, and abcmouse. These computers have allowed students to practice needed typing skills to be successful in the upper grades. The chrome books are very much loved and cared for in our classroom.
All of this would not have been possible without our two new computers. Thank you again for your generous donation
