My group of special needs students is made up of 9 students in a class of 27. One area that my students have difficulty scoring well on their state test is in the section of comprehension of non-fiction. I am hoping that by giving them some interesting topics to read about now, we can practice some reading strategies that will help them later in testing. We have quite a few "bobble head books" already and the students are looking for new ones. We want ones that the students can relate to, such as Derek Jeter, but also could help with what they are learning about now in school.
