The fifty-eight advanced learners that I teach daily can be quirky and creative! Several are twice-exceptional students, and many need to fidget and move around while thinking. They really enjoy our learning environment and speed down the hallway to arrive. They want to sit on the eleven exercise balls that I already purchased using my personal money because it helps them have better attention. My observations found that if kids who need to move don't get to sit on a ball, then they will turn a regular chair into a moving machine by pushing it back and balancing on the legs. I want to optimize learning in my classroom. The sizes of my classes keep increasing which is a wonderful 'problem'! It means our school is growing advanced learners and more kids are being identified as gifted.
