Let there be LIGHT!
Funded Sep 24, 2012This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to our classroom. So many of our science concepts this year are difficult to teach without a hands on approach. The light kit you helped buy has assisted our class in making real life connections. The convex and concave mirrors have helped students to see all types of real world items we use with light including telescopes, microscopes, and glasses. The color shades have helped our students to see the absorbing properties of light and the small flashlights have helped them to see how light travels in a straight line.
With the many changes occurring in our school systems today, it is so wonderful to know that generous people like you can make a difference through DonorsChoose.org.”

Rock it Out
Funded Dec 16, 2010This is just a small token of my gratitude for the generous donation to our classroom. The rocks and minerals that you have donated have helped my students through their knowledge of all the content areas in rocks and minerals. We have used them to connect to the rock cycle, which we read about in the science text. The original rocks and minerals that we used were only about a quarter of the size and were worn down. The new kits we received were perfect for testing the hardness, streak, and individual properties of rocks.
Without your help I never would have been able to purchase these wonderful materials. Even in these hard economic times it is such a blessing to see wonderful people like yourselves helping classrooms in need.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms would go without. ”
With gratitude,
Mr. Oliver
This classroom project was brought to life by Arts & Science Council and 8 other donors.Electrifying Experiments
Funded Nov 14, 2011This is just a small token of my gratitude for the generous donation you have provided for our classroom. The electricity kits you provided have helped make science engaging every day. Our students have made parallel and series circuits work, built electromagnets, and tested the effects of conductors and insulators on many objects. Without your generous donation none of this amazing learning could have been possible. Many of these concepts are read about in our science textbooks, but students have a difficult time making those connections. Through the power of your donations we have experienced the wonder that electricity can produce. ”

Mr. Oliver
