Collaboration and inquiry are two of the pillars of the AVID curriculum. Students think, pair, share, present, question, discuss, and present on a daily basis. The Mobile Tablet Arm Chairs will allow them to move to any group sizes and move easily, quickly and safely. In the AVID classroom, students use collaborative study groups twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to tutor each other with problems or questions they bring from their core classes. The students are divided into groups based on the subject matter or question. The students will use the Mobile Tablet Arm Chairs to move to any size study group in the classroom or even in the hallway. Study groups change each day depending on the questions that are brought to class. This first Donors Choose project includes six Mobile Tablet Arm Chairs to get the collaboration started. My ultimate goal will be to fund 26-28 Mobile Arm Tablet Chairs for the classroom and remove all traditional desks.
