iPads will give my students a greater chance of improving their communication, motor, and cognitive skills. iPads will offer my students portability and flexibly that a traditional PC or laptop cannot provide my students. They will use the touchscreen, such as tapping and sliding motions which is much easier than typing. The world for an autistic child is full of imagery, rather than words. On an iPad, my students will use iPad apps for autism which give them the ability to create a sentence or even story using a series of images. I will use the iPad customizable options to fit my students and his/her specific needs. During academic instruction my students will be able to provide responses to questions related to all academic content areas. Using the iPad allow my students to be able to communicate with parents, caretakers, and myself without frustration. An iPad will give my students a sense of independence because they will no longer need an individual to speak for them.
