My students are our younger group of students as the 6th and 7th graders. They are thrilled to be coming to our school and we strive to prepare them for the upper grades and college. Additionally as the mathematics teacher for the middle school the past 11 years, I have seen how providing a computer to the students creates a huge academic advantage for our students and their family. Her low economic status is no longer a barrier to her learning. They come to us in 6th grade having little knowledge of how to even save a file or document, yet within no time they are easily creating PowerPoint presentations for classes.
