Most the students I teach come from high poverty areas. Many of these students have been written off for where they come from, but believe me, these kids can and will go places. The students I have been fortunate enough to teach despite all odds have a thirst for knowledge. These kids constantly strive to be the best in their class and school, and exceed the expectations that others have placed on them. Being that this is a school with Visual and Performing Arts in the title, many people expect so much from us or assume we have a plethora of supplies. We do not. I can only imagine how awesome we could be if we had everything we needed.
