Funded Mar 27, 2018I would personally like to thank you for the guided reading table and seat sacks that were provided for my classroom. They have made all the difference for us, from my students being prepared and organized to having more arm room and space on the table as well as in their seat sacks. Each student has a seat sack where they keep their belongings and since they're all the same, the children do not fight off who has the "better" seat sack. The guided reading table has helped me so much in regards to my lesson plans, activities and more available seats for the kids.
Since the children do not have desks with storage, the seat sacks are great for them to keep their workbooks, pencil cases and extra paperwork they do in our classroom. The kids love the seat sacks because they are very practical. If they need their workbook, all they have to do is turn around and grab it. They just drop their pencils in the seat sack so that they do not misplace them throughout the day. No fuss running around to grab all the workbooks from one side of the room then running back to their seats. With 26 students that can be extremely time consuming. The classroom also looks less cluttered because students can keep all their belongings in their seat sacks and we do not have to try and create storage space for them. We already have very limited room.
The guided reading table has made activities in my classroom so much easier. The table is the perfect size because it fits well in the room and provides space for each child to be comfortable ad focused. From the way the table is set up, it allows me to see all my students without having my back towards any child. The children love the table for the same reason- it's so easy to work in partners and groups with our new table. We did one activity where the children had to pronounce letter sounds and match them to correct letter. They work as a group to assist each other and all the children have a clear view of each other to see and hear each other across the table without shouting at each other. Usually during center time, the children all prefer to work on the guided reading table to do their work.
I would just like to say thank you again for the seat sacks and for the guided reading table! Class 1E is very thankful for them and for all the difference it has made in our daily learning.”
With gratitude,
Ms. K.
