I am an Adapted Physical Education teacher at a new elementary school in the Bronx. I teach nine different Kindergarten classes. My students are diagnosed with Autism, and the class ratios are 12:1:1, 8:1:1, and 6:1:1. Most of the students are nonverbal and I need lots of visual and tactile resources in order to keep them interested in different activities. As I mentioned before, this is a new school the opened in September 2014 and we have very limited equipment. The students have a very short attention span, and they tend to lose interest in activities very quickly.
