Science Lab In Need Of HELP!
Funded Jun 22, 2009I cannot thank you both enough for your generous gift to our classroom. The day the boxes came to school, you would have thought it was Christmas. We have all of the materials that you purchased displayed in our room, with a note explaining how they came to us. Once my students got their hands on the microscopes, they could not put them down! It is amazing how much more like a scientist they feel in using "grown up" science tools! They used to think that only high school students could be that lucky. Now they feel like they're on top of the world because of the experiments we can now do! Thanks again for all of your help!”
With gratitude,
Ms. W.
Getting Rid of the Bullies...
Funded Mar 18, 2009This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The sets of books on bullying you have donated have already impacted my students. We have been able to read through one book so far. It would normally take us a week to finish a book of that length, but the students didn't want to put it down. They would scream for "one more chapter! Please just one more!" What teacher can deny their students when they ask for more, especially when it comes to reading.
What I loved most was the personal discussions about bullying that came up because of the book. The students were able to make connections to themselves and how they've acted in different situations. They also came to the conclusion that when you say nothing when another person is being bullied, you are just as bad as the bully!
They are currently creating posters to explain to others what to do if you encounter a bully. The students created this project on their own to showcase their learning. I'll make sure to post those pictures once they are completed!
I can't thank you enough for your donation. Right now, our school is lacking in funding in every way. It would have cost me hundreds of dollars to provide all of the books your company purchased. It is because of donors like you that classrooms in the United States will not go without!”
With gratitude,
Ms. W.
