  • Peace, Equality, and Respect for All

    Funded Jun 14, 2022

My students are very excited to read the texts and engage in the workbook writing and reading activities offered by the resources.

My students have order begun to create their stories using the story fill-ins! They are so interesting that my students show such interest and excitement during the writing block in our class. Reading is very encouraging and enjoyable in my classroom. Students enjoy reading using flexible seating, including bean bags and mats. Students who have not read as much enjoy reading more since the reading sources are more student friendly and center on engaging topics.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sarikova

  • "Preparation Is the Key to Success"

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation!

My students are already looking forward to using these resources. We are planning to use the gel pens for mindful coloring. In this way, we target our social emotional skills. I will use the poster board with dry erasable sheets in order to create choice boards for assignments and EXIT tickets. I am also planning to use the thought bubbles to enhance my literacy lessons, and bring the character's to life with real examples of dialogue and conversation. The possibilities are endless! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sarikova

  • Unravel the Potential of Great Minds

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

My students and I are so excited to delve into our new resources!

As a classroom, we commit ourselves to engage in social-emotional activities daily.

I encourage my students to read at different times throughout our school day.

This includes during our morning "Free Reading Time", reading after finishing assignments and classwork and exploring literary texts.

My students read on bean bags, bouncy chairs, floor chairs and mats.

The students who are especially struggling controlling their emotions are especially benefitting from these books.

We appreciate your funding our resources!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sarikova

  • What You See Is What You Get

    Funded Mar 23, 2021

Thank you so much for your consideration and generosity! My students were so excited when they saw all the materials funded by Donors Choose!

The reaction on their faces showed how eager and thrilled they were to open the packages and explore the wonderful surprises delivered to our class.

Reading is very enjoyable in my classroom as we use stuffed animals to cradle and lay down on and sensory items such as a lava lamp and oversized stuffed bear to lounge on.

We use the materials on a daily basis. The resources help us enhance the quality of writing by creating colorful resources to guide my students to use anchor charts and study ringed cards to refer to temporal and transitional words in order to create a quality writing piece. Other ways we use it is to act out or illustrate literary ideas.

We plan to use the resources for other assignments, lessons and projects in different subject to make learning engaging, open-ended and explorative.

We appreciate so much your sponsorship and kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sarikova

Some of my students are too sensitive, hyperactive, aggressive, inattentive and self-directed. However, each child has a key which I strive to discover because it is the only way to motivate and encourage my students to learn. My school has a high poverty rate and is located in a low-income community. Learning is an experience that is new for many of them, since they are young kindergartners.
