Inquiring Minds Want To Know .
Funded Oct 9, 2023I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donation towards acquiring the Scholastic 'Let's Find Out' magazine for my Kindergarten classroom. Your contribution is making a significant impact on the educational experience of my students. The colorful and engaging content in these magazines, covering topics ranging from holidays and science to important figures like Martin Luther King, Jr., enriches our classroom curriculum and captivates the children's interest.
Not only are these magazines educational, but they also provide a fun and enjoyable way for the children to learn. The topics, such as butterflies, community helpers, parts of a plant and good citizenship, resonate well with the young minds, making the learning process both effective and enjoyable. Your support allows me to provide these valuable resources to my students, fostering a love for learning and curiosity about the world around them.
Once again, THANK YOU :) for your kindness and commitment to the education of our young learners. Your generosity is making a lasting difference in their lives, and I am truly grateful for your support.”

Tools of the Trade
Funded Sep 30, 2022We are well into the school year and because of YOU, have the 'TOOLS OF THE TRADE' needed to help us reach our Kindergarten goals. The items that are the biggest hits with students are the Light-up Countdown Timer, the tactile letters and numbers and the Magic Board .
The timer has made transition times easy for students since it flashes a warning and as a result the children independently know how much time is left and clean up on their own as they race to beat the timer.
The tactile letters, numbers and Magic Board have benefitted students who do not enjoy writing tasks since it is a fun way to learn how to form the letters. We use them during center time and handwriting exercises and it has really made a difference in their attitude towards writing tasks and the quality of their handwriting.
Some other items that really have benefitted my students are the 'Feelings Journal', 'Reading Trackers' and 'Ten-Frames'. Some of my students are learning how to regulate their emotions and this journal is their own. It shows them pictures of different emotions and helps them identify what they are feeling. The student can either draw what they are feeling or put it into words. This journal also facilitates discussion if the student chooses to express their feelings into words.
The Reading trackers are a great addition to our ELA period since it helps students keep track of where they are when they are reading. This is a new and sometimes challenging skill in Kindergarten.
The ten-frames are a big hit during math lessons and centers because it is hands-on. Hands-on activities allow children to be more successful since it is a good visual and requires students to be actively involved in their learning.
We appreciate all that you have done to make this dream, thought and idea come true to us.
I really feel that having these 'tools' at our fingertips has really helped my students to be excited and more engaged during lessons. Having this wonderful opportunity has made a big difference in my students' Kindergarten experience. I sincerely thank each and everyone of you for your generosity and making this happen for us.”
