My students are the most special little people in the world. They are eager, inquisitive, charming, and unique. Many come from single parent homes and receive free school lunch. The one thing they all have in common is my love for them. I want them to be exposed to the same things my own children had at their age. I want them to know they are loved and cared for not just by their parents, but by me. My school is predominantly African American. It is not one of the higher performing schools in the city, but we are working extremely hard to change that. A partnership between parents and teachers is vital to our success. Our new principal is ensuring that this partnership is a reality. This is my 13th year teaching at this school. I would not work anywhere else because I feel that I am truly making a difference here.
