Cultivating Kindness, Building Bridges to the World!

The impact of having timely and relevant resources in our classroom has been overwhelming and amazing. As we take on new research and projects, the students are grateful to have new books, stories, and information to help facilitate their learning. The students will be using the books about different countries to undertake country studies, learning about both places they know and other locales that to them are brand new.

Students need to be exposed to new ideas, differing cultures, and the understanding that we live in many ways with varying customs, beliefs, and resources around the globe. Our library's nonfiction collection could stand to become more robust to help aid these goals, and I hope to use these resources as a springboard for discussions, research, and student-driven projects. Adding these resources to our media center collection will help students learn not only about their own backgrounds but also those of their classmates and community members in a way that is inclusive and supportive. Help us deepen our widespread knowledge and further develop a learning environment that celebrates diversity!
