  • Letters, Letters, All Around!

    Funded Feb 9, 2017

First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity. Receiving our materials was a one of the major highlights of the school year. The students were excited to play with and explore the new materials when they first arrived. Now that they are familiar with the materials, including the magnetic writing boards and letter tubs, the students have been able to use them as academic tools. It has been amazing to see how excited they are about language arts activities now that we have so many different materials through which we can present lessons and activities. Thanks to your support we have been able to have a few of our students write independently for the first time!

Thank you again from all of us here in K1 at Royal-Allard Elementary.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Espinoza

  • First Year Fun

    Funded Aug 16, 2016

    Dear donors,

First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone of you. Having our first project funded was an amazing experience and it is all thanks to you. The students were thrilled to receive the huge delivery and we were lucky enough to have our plant manager open it right before their eyes.

Since receiving our Lakeshore kitchen the students have been interacting so much more. This is an amazing sight to see since so many of our students are still developing their social and play skills. The students are now using the kitchen on a daily basis. After we added food toys and plates they began working together as they pretend to chop and prep full meals. They are learning to set the table, wash dishes, sort, take turns, and so much more. These are skills that will help them on the road to independence.

Thanks to your help our students are having a great time and enjoying the hands on experiences they need to help them continue to grow and achieve.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Espinoza

I teach at an inner city school and my students range in grades from transitional kindergarten through first grade. Our class is full of enthusiastic, active, and eager learners. Many of my students are children with Autism who learn in very distinct ways. Some of my students prefer auditory experiences while others learn better through kinesthetic activities. Although our school is based in an underprivileged community, we strive to provide our students with as many resources and learning experiences as possible.
