  • Hear It! See It! Feel It! Science Through Sensory Exploration

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

First and foremost I'd like to thank you for your generosity and support. With the help of donors like you my classroom continues to be a place where my students can not only learn and thrive but also enjoy their experiences during learning.

My students love all of the new sensory materials! We use sensory stations daily and these materials have allowed me to constantly provide them with new and exciting things to play with and explore. The best part about these materials is that I am able to meet academic and sensory needs all at one station.

Thank you again for your support. You have made an amazing impact on our program.”

  • That Looks Like Me! Materials for Supporting Diversity

    Funded Jun 20, 2019

Thank you so much for your support of this project! Your donations have helped make my classroom be a place where students can learn about and appreciate diversity.

It has been amazing to watch my students interact with each other as they pretend to feed the dolls and play with them in so many different ways. The musical instruments were also a big hit. The kids love exploring each one and listening to the different sounds they produce. The students are now more willing to play cooperatively and it is because of these materials.

Thank you again for your donation.”

  • Super STEM for Super Students!

    Funded May 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity and interest in our class. The students and I are very happy to use our new materials during our math groups.

Having the scoop and count ice cream game, fine motor math centers, and the create-a-path magnetic center has provided my students with an opportunity to play as they learn. Students are able work collaboratively in finding new paths in the magnetic center and new ways to use the other items. Thanks to your support we have fun and engaging materials with which the students can increase their knowledge and experiences of STEM based learning.”

  • Dig Into Learning

    Funded Mar 1, 2019

Thank you very much for supporting our class. Receiving our materials was incredibly exciting. The students and I always open our Donors Choose materials together and they were so happy to see the scooters and sand.

The sand has been an amazing sensory play item for my students. We add small toys and picture cards and have sand table scavenger hunts. They search for numbers, pictures, letters, small toys, the possibilities are endless and they love this activity. Thanks to your donations we also received a lid for our sand table which has helped keep our materials nice and tidy. The scooters have helped the students practice turn taking and have really got them moving.

Thank you again for believing in this project and bringing these much needed materials to our class.”

  • Awesome Osmos for STEM!

    Funded Dec 19, 2018

First and foremost I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donations. Thanks to your support my students now have a new learning tool which combines technology and hand-on activities. The OSMOS sets have been extremely helpful in engaging students during small group instruction. It has also helped them gain independence as they are able to use the materials without direct adult assistance. We plan to continue to make OSMOS a part of our daily routine as they have been extremely beneficial to the students.”

I teach at an inner city school and my students range in grades from transitional kindergarten through first grade. Our class is full of enthusiastic, active, and eager learners. Many of my students are children with Autism who learn in very distinct ways. Some of my students prefer auditory experiences while others learn better through kinesthetic activities. Although our school is based in an underprivileged community, we strive to provide our students with as many resources and learning experiences as possible.
