  • STEM Supplies: Dash Bots, Legos, Magnetic Sticks and MORE

    Funded May 8, 2023

Thank you so much for funding my project. When we got the project items, it was like Christmas in May. It is almost the end of the school year, so I am excited to use these supplies in the upcoming academic year. When my students saw the boxes the legos, dashpots, and all the other supplies they got so excited. They got to taste the taste the cereal bars. It seems that my students favorite cereal bar is the apple cinnamon. I reminded my students about how blessed fortunate we were to receive so many wonderful supplies from a generous donor. They are fortunate to have items in their classroom that other inner city students do not have access to. I will continue to advocate for my wonderful students so that they can have the resources in the classroom to support, enrich and further their educational experiences.

Thank you once again for supporting my students in their education.”

  • Copy Paper and Science Lab Clean Up Supplies

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

Thank you so much for funding my projects. It is great to have the cleaning supplies that I use everyday in my classroom. I have 5 classes coming to my room everyday and sometimes things can get a little messy. Now I have the wipes and paper towels needed for all my daily spills and cleanups. The students have already enjoyed the eating the fruit snacks and the NutterButter, chips ahoy and Oreo cookie snack packs. Although the snacks are already almost finished, it was great to see their faces of sheer excitement and enjoyment when they were given the snacks. As far as the paper, I have not received the paper yet due to a delivery mishap, but I am assured that it will be reordered and delivered for student use.

Thanks again for all you do for the leaders of tomorrow and teachers like me.”

The headphones have just arrived. They are beautiful. The students have not seen them yet. My students have just been so busy taking NYS ELA and Math exams. However, next week I will show my students their new black Noise canceling SONY headphones. I will assign my students a research assignment so that they can use their new headphones. I hope share pictures of my students using their headphones while using Amplify Apps or doing research.

Thank you once agin for supporting many projects for my students.”

  • Smencils, Smencils A Timeless Incentive

    Funded Feb 25, 2022

We have received the Smencils and as you can imagine the students were thrilled. I donated a bucket to the Attendance team to give to students when their class receives a 100% percent attendance. I also ordered the Spring Smencils just in the nick of time as Spring has just arrived. My students did immediately notice the Safari animals Smencils as being new. As you already know I am going to continue to incorporate Smencils as an incentive for completion of assignments, participation and excellent behavior. I love my students and for the most part they are hardworking, kind, motivated and well behaved. I believe that students receiving Smencils reinforces the good habits that most of my students exhibit in class everyday and for those students that struggle with good learning habits, Smencils definite has been an effective motivational tool.

God Bless you and thank you for all you have to support my students and l.”

  • September Supplies: Markers, Copy Paper, Crayons, and More

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you for funding my project. I just received the materials this week. I am excited for my students to use the materials. It is a relief to have the notebooks and copy paper. Now when a student needs a notebook, I can provide one for them without hesitation and keep the lesson going. It is also wonderful to not have to worry about copy paper since often the teacher need to make their own copies for the students. Just so you are aware this year I have been assigned as a Science cluster teacher. It is different from teaching social studies. Students will be doing many hands-on experiments with me this year. I look forward to it. Thank you once again for all the materials. I know the students will enjoy using them.”

  • REMOTE Students Need ELMO for Modeling of MATH and Writing

    Funded Feb 17, 2021

What a game changer having the Elmo has been for my students and I. Just being able to actually model work for my students again the way I used to has made me so happy. I am now able to model and review problem in their workbook during math. Before the Elmo, I would review work on my dry erase board on the wall behind me but students would often claim they could not see well what I was writing on the dry erase board or they would say that there was a glare that made it difficult for them to see. Now students can see everything clearly with no distractions. in addition, during writing, I can now model writing more easily. I can show them how to echo the question in their responses. In the beginning, when I started using the Elmo, it was nerve racking as the students did not really understand what the document camera was and what it had to offer. Now students will ask specifically for me to demonstrate or model something using the Elmo. They know that they have to wait 30 seconds or so for me to connect the Elmo and they think it is worth it. As a teacher, I feel now that I am fully being very explicit in my instruction and am noticing better quality in the work being submitted to me on the google classroom platform. You have once again truly impacted my instruction and the education of my students.

Thank you for your support in funding this project.”

  • Laptop for Remote Teaching Needed

    Funded Dec 25, 2020

I have received the laptop. The HP laptop was replaced and I now have a Mac Pro laptop again. What a relief! My other laptop was causing me issues. The other laptop had several keys that were stuck, which made it difficult to write. Often when I was modeling or writing, I had to press again and again on a key so it would show on the computer. Often I would have to waste time correcting my writing due to faulty letter keys. The students often thought that I was making spelling errors until I explained the situation. The other computer was also having difficulty with the battery. It was running out of battery very quickly. I had to constantly keep my laptop plugged into the power so the laptop would not run out of power. There were two instances where I did not do this and I lost power and I lost contact with my students for a couple of minutes. The other issue that I no longer need to deal with is a slow computer. The new laptop runs quickly and smoothly. No more beachball.

As you know, I am teaching remotely and having a new laptop is essential for all instruction. Recently I used the new laptop for my March Parent-Teacher Conferences. Parents attended the conferences via their child's google classroom meet. I created a signup for parent called Signup Genius. Parent loved it and were very impressed with this App. that allowed parents to chose their time slot for Parent-teacher conference. I also have used the new laptop to continue to post all assignments on our classroom steam and show instruction videos, read alouds, Google Slides, Google docs and announcements. My new laptop has truly been a blessing to my students and myself. It allows me to be more efficient and now they do not have to wait for me to fix errors due to numerous stuck keys or my slow browsing abilities. All thanks to you both.”

  • Color Printing to Engage and Motivate Students

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

I just want to say that the printer that you gave me has been very helpful to my students indirectly. Unfortunately, I am teaching my second graders remotely. Nevertheless, the printer has been very helpful to me as a remote teacher. Remote teachers receive all curriculum as PDFs. It became extremely difficult to read all the curriculum online. I often had to print out lesson plans and curriculum in order to teach my students remotely.

What I love about this printer is that this printer is extremely efficient and affordable. Usually, when I used a printer in the past, you could only print out about 50 colored copies and the ink was about $80.00 every time I would purchase new ink. This printer prints out 2,000+ sheets and is about $60.00 for an ink pack. This is a great feature. Now I no longer have to worry about printing sheets sparingly due to the expense of ink. I look forward to being an in-person teacher in the classroom and being able to print out student's work without any worry.

Thank you again for all your support.”

  • Post-It Chart Paper Once Again

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you so much for funding my project of Post It chart paper. As always, having Post-It chart paper has made teaching easier and more efficient. I use the Post-It chart paper in every subject area every day. I used the chart paper when I'm teaching grammar and/or am modeling with children how to edit their work. I also used the chart paper to display work that was done the day before in order to help children with a concept or idea that they may have forgotten that was taught on a previous day. I also used chart paper to work out different mathematical problems during my mini-lessons. Chart paper is also used to display important information that I want children to be able to go back to on an everyday basis. For example, charts about what is a noun, a verb, and an adjective. The children refer to the transitional words chart when they are doing writing assignments. I have a chart paper that I use for children to always remember different character traits or emotions. Chart papers have always proven to be a very valuable resource for me as a teacher but also for my students. Chart paper also serves the purpose of being learning charts. What makes the Post-It chart paper particularly special, is that they can be easily hang up anywhere. There is no need for me to get some tape so that I can tape it on the wall or the dry erase board. I just ripped a sheet of paper and I'm good to go.

Now that I have been teaching remotely, often I take pictures of my learning charts and post them on Google Classroom according to the subject area that they pertain. My students have become accustomed to the learning charts and often even request that I put a particular chart on our classroom page. Posted chart paper has been a blessing for my students and me. On behalf of my students, I truly thank you and appreciate the materials you have purchased for them.”

  • Kids Need Yoga Supplies

    Funded Dec 21, 2018

I have received the yoga supplies and am so anxious to use them with the staff, parents and students. I am in the process I printing out a liability forms so that teachers can participate in my professional development. I want teachers to get familiar with yoga as a way of learning how to cope with stress. A very important part of yoga involves learning how to breath in order to calm yourself down and change your emotional state. In addition to yoga poses I would like teachers to get more into self love and being grateful for all that they already have. I will also teach yoga poses and all the variations of yoga poses for those who need modifications based on their fitness level. The supplies like the yoga blocks are specifically for people that need modification for Warrior 3 pose. The bolster are for those individual that cannot sit on a bare floor and need more cushion. I know that through teaching teacher first about yoga it will trickle down to students indirectly and directly. Teacher will learn how to breath and cope within the classroom and directly teacher will be impacted by Yoga as teacher turnkey breathing techniques and simple stretching and basic yoga poses to their students. I hope that you will enjoy the photos and thank you letters that I will be sending in the near future.

I really appreciate all that you continue to do for our school and our students.

Thank you for your continued support for my projects”
