Infrared Technology in the Lab and Microscope Preservation
Funded Nov 21, 2022My students are using the infrared thermometers to monitor the temperature in the temporary nests/incubators they designed and built for their endothermic/exothermic chemistry standard and their engineering standards. They loved being able to toggle back and forth between Celsius and Fahrenheit and the ease of pulling the trigger.
My students were very excited when they first saw the infrared thermometers. They also asked if we got new microscopes because the new dust covers are clear and clean, unlike our ripped old ones!”

Making Science Fun!
Funded Oct 8, 2013Thank you so much for investing in our classroom! The students are so thrilled with all of the hands-on materials. They ask to play the Science Quiz Game Show all the time. Making science fun is an integral part of getting them excited about learning new science concepts.
Our second graders are challenged with the Magnetic Match Rings while our third and fifth graders learn new life science vocabulary with Plants Bingo. Our fourth graders love Matter and Energy Bingo and our first graders love the Life Cycle Chart and books.
Thank you for helping build a science program at Rancho Las Positas Elementary School that is hands-on, current, and fun! The students love attending science lab, in part, because of your generosity.”

Be Cool, Support 5th Grade Heat Conduction!
Funded Jan 15, 2010Thank you, thank you all for your generosity! We will not be using these kits until April or May, but I want you to know that the kids are going to be wowed! These ice melting kits will help the kids understand heat conduction with a hands-on approach. They are much more likely to remember lessons that require them to use multiple senses. This lab activity will also draw upon their critical thinking skills since the results are counter-intuitive. With the dire need for more education funding affecting almost everyone, I am truly grateful that you chose to support our project!”

Science Class Needs Wheels
Funded Dec 22, 2008Thank you so much for helping our science class get more mobile! We are going to use our utility cart to start a new garden this spring and to haul many other lab supplies. Now we will not have to make so many trips back and forth to storage and to the parking lot. In addition, the utility cart will allow students to receive more teaching time. Thank you again for your generosity! Happy holidays to you and yours”

Fun with Science
Funded Dec 1, 2008Wow, thank you so much for your generosity. My students and I are looking forward to having more fun in science! They will be glad we have our own games instead of having to borrow them, too. Our PTA is working hard to get us more funding, but we could not have afforded these games without your help. Thanks again”
