Ms. R's Rockin' Math Request

Thank you again for your support of my classroom! We are off to a great start this year, and the kids love the materials we were able to purchase because of your generosity.

One of the things I have wanted to do for some time is create an art center within my classroom setting. Research shows that kids who are allowed to be creative in the classroom do better in both writing and math! Your donation helped purchase an art table, easel, and supplies which are used EVERY day. The kids love to create murals for me, which we then display around the classroom. Some of their pictures even become great story starters! It also gives them a quiet space to work out their troubles if they need to take a brain break or regain their self-control.

Some of the other items include comfy chairs for my reading nook, organizational tools like mailboxes, a rack to display and store our math board games, and several kinds of hands on math manipulatives like teddy bear counters, math dice, and even a floor sized 100 chart (like a Twister game!). We depend on these tools every day, and recently used the teddy bear counters as a non standard measuring tool to find the length of bat wings for Halloween! It was a huge hit!
